Tina Malone has praised her "passionate" sex life with her husband while insisting that age is nothing but a number.

The former Shameless star, 60, and her husband Paul Chase, 41, have been a couple for over a decade but despite briefly splitting in 2019, it seems like they wasted no time in getting their spark back. Just four months after their split in October 2019, the couple went on to reunite just a number of months later in 2020.

Now, Liverpool-born Tina has explained their romance won't be dying down any time soon as the couple still have sparks, with Paul giving his wife butterflies.

She said: "Sex just gets better as you get older, I'm 60, so I'm comfortable with myself." Speaking to Closer magazine, the actress continued: "I like to think I'm accomplished at most things in my life now - and that applies in the bedroom too! Paul and I still have so much passion, after 13 years you know each other so well.

"He still gives me butterflies!" Mum-of-two Tina was branded "unrecognisable " as she appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier this month after having recently had a facelift. She has confessed she feels like a different person after she went from a size 28 to six to eight, having undergone gastric band surgery back in 2010. The actress has said it has been hard work to maintain her weight and insists surgery isn't the easy option.

Tina shared she put on a stone earlier this year, but decided to get "a grip" on it in May. As part of her health kick, Tina ate small healthy meals four times a day and she took up jogging. She focused on eating "lots of fruit, vegetables and protein". Tina explained: "I was skipping meals and eating rubbish, and even with the band, I was putting on weight. You need to eat well to get your nutrients and if you're eating just fat and sugar, you'll put on weight.

"A gastric band doesn't change your mind or your personality," she told Closer. Tina has been sober for 25 years after she was once having "30 to 40 gin and tonics". She confessed she doesn't miss drinking or smoking, but food is a "battle" for her as "you can't abstain" from it. Speaking on Good Morning Britain, she said: "As somebody who has always struggled with my weight having lost 12 stone it's difficult in the current times we live in, the challenging times we live in.

"We all tend to look for different crutches. I think I am more likely to go in and get a sausage roll and the pasties – everything in moderation – if it's at the end of my road and it's open at 12 at night. It's like everything – I'm 25 years sober, 10 years drug-free but if you have an addictive personality, if something is tempting you the more likely you are, especially in these difficult times."
