Tina Malone, 60, wows fans as she shows off 12st weight loss and facelift
Tina Malone set social media ablaze on Wednesday morning when she appeared on Good Morning Britain looking young and fresh following a 12 stone drop in weight and a facelift.
The 60-year-old Shameless actress was branded “unrecognisable” by viewers who were stunned by her new appearance. While Tina herself has openly discussed her health journey and cosmetic procedures that have left her feeling younger and more confident.
Over recent years, the TV star has opened up about her weight loss and self image struggles, while also campaigning for stricter rules on fast food sales. And since her fame on Shameless, the star has dropped over 12 stone in weight and gone from a size 26 to a size six. Appearing on Loose Women in 2017 while her weight loss journey was underway, Tina admitted that paparazzi shots showing excess skin left by her weight loss left her feeling down. She explained: "I've done so well.
"I’ve lost 12 and a half stone… I'm a scouser, I'm hard as nails. Love me or hate me, I'm a bit of a Trojan, but I saw those pap shots and all the wrinkles, and I thought, 'How can you get that far?’"
She also revealed she became a target of online trolls - which also took its toll. She explained: "I'm happy, healthy, eradicated my diabetes and high blood pressure. But I am horrified by the wrinkly skin on my legs, tummy, back, bum etc. I actually have sobbed tonight. But I'm only human, I don't deserve the battering I've had from people… just nasty comments."

Tina has had some cosmetic work to lift her face in recent years (Rex Features)Tina credits her weight loss with having a gastric band fitted to help her with her dieting goals. And she also changed her diet to be more healthy. And helping others work to create healthier diets is a subject Tina feels passionate about - and she has pitched a "kebab curfew" to help others avoid vices.
She said on Good Morning Britain: "As somebody who has always struggled with my weight having lost 12 stone and it's difficult in the current times we live in, the challenging times we live in. We all tend to look for different crutches. I think I am more likely to go in and get a sausage roll and the pasties - everything in moderation - if it's at the end of my road and it's open at 12 at night.
"It's like everything - I'm 25 years sober, 10 years drug free but if you have an addictive personality, if something is tempting you the more likely you are, especially in these difficult times."
Tina has also gone under the knife to have excess skin removed and to get a face lift. She has been delighted by the results. She told Closer Magazine last year: "I'm over the moon with how I look. My old face appeared sad and miserable now I look healthier, sexier and prettier than ever. The last few years have been tough and this has given me something to smile about.”
