Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was on hand to rescue presenter Kate Abdo after she started choking while introducing CBS's coverage of Wednesday night's Champions League action.

The experienced host was beginning to tell viewers what was in store for them ahead of the semi-final Milan derby between Inter and AC Milan when she started to cough relentlessly.

"More drama is on the way, today the second semi-final kicks off at the San Siro, AC Milan and Inter Milan sharing a stadium, a city and now the rare opportunity to move a step closer to the Champions League final...", Abdo couldn't finish her segment without pausing and trying to swallow, which only prompted laughter from pundit and Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

While the Frenchman giggles, Carragher can be heard off-camera ask Abdo if she is okay, before Henry chimes in and claims: "That's the tuna sandwich still stuck in your throat."

Carragher was quick to tend to Abdo with a bottle of water, which she was very grateful for as she replied: "Thank you so much, I'm so sorry everybody it was a great intro and I just totally killed it."

After taking a few sips of the water, she eased concern by adding: "I'm good now, thanks boys, appreciate it."

Abdo then seamlessly carried on with her intro and picked up where she left off and reminded viewers of what is at stake during Wednesday's Milan derby.

The presenter was certainly correct in her pre-match excitement, with the Milan derby often one of the most dramatic fixtures on the continent when contested in Serie A, let alone in the final four of the Champions League.

While AC are historically the superior side in this competition as opposed to their rivals, it is Inter who have won the Champions League more recently.

Under the guidance of Jose Mourinho in 2010, an Inter side inspired by the goals of Diego Milito went the distance, beating Bayern Munich in a fiercely contested final at the Santiago Bernabeu.

AC on the other hand, have not lifted the Champions League since way back in 2007 when they topped Carragher's Liverpool in Athens. While that may have been their most recent triumph, it is important to acknowledge of AC's incredible tally of seven Champions League's on their packed honours list.

The Italian giants are one of the few teams to retain European club football's most prestigious trophy back in the late 80's, when AC won back to back Champions League's in 1989 and 1990 during the reign of iconic coach Arrigo Saachi.
