Laura Woods has quickly become a fan-favourite among Premier League supporters with her quick wit both online and when presenting.

Woods presents the talkSPORT breakfast show three days a week, as well as leading ITV's coverage of the NFL. Her interactions with fans on social media have become legendary, with Woods not afraid to brutally take down any supporters who come at her.

The presenter is also happy with lightheartedly poking fun at guests or pundits who feature on her shows. Here, Mirror Football looks at the presenter's top five moments as she delights supporters over the airwaves and on social media.

Brutal takedown of fan

It is not just in the TV or radio studio where Woods is willing to show off her comedic talents. She has also developed a reputation for brutal takedowns of supporters on social media.

One such incident came when she asked for holiday tips, specifically beaches in the UK. She tweeted: "Hi. Where are the best beaches in Britain? Like very quiet, hidden gem type ones."

One enterprising fan decided to invite her round to his house, writing: "Got a kids sand pit in my back garden?? Does this count?? Mrs is at work most days." Woods though hit back with a typically brutal put down, replying: "That’s what she says…"

'Pinching herself' over Souness

During the World Cup, Woods admitted to being left "pinching herself" over Graeme Souness' praise of England after their draw with the United States. Questions had been asked of Gareth Southgate in the aftermath of the game, but Souness called for calm.

“This is rich coming from a Scotsman, I wouldn’t be too hard on your team [England]. I think you’re up against a really good USA team. I thought the USA looked like a really experienced team with pedigree. I wouldn’t be too hard on yourselves," he told ITV.

Those comments left Woods surprised, considering Souness’ international allegiance to Scotland, and she fired a cheeky comment at him in response. She said: “I just have to pinch myself because I think that was a compliment from Graeme Souness to England.”

Accusations of overfamiliarity

During the World Cup, Woods faced a bizarre attack from veteran broadcaster Des Lynam after she used Arsenal legend Ian Wright's nickname of 'Wrighty'. Lynam slammed Woods for being 'overfamiliar' with the pundit.

Woods hit back at the former presenter on Twitter, writing: "Jeez. Of all the things covered this is what made Des wince?” Wright also hit out at Lynam, tweeting: “How’s Des vexed that Laura called me ‘Wrighty’!!! Looking for something negative to write.”

He went further in the next game the duo were together for after Woods asked him a question. Wright replied: "You know what Lozza, it doesn't matter, you don't have to call me Ian. Look, how long we've known each other? Call me Wrighty like you normally do."

Defending Emma Jones

Woods has also been a staunch defender of her fellow presenters, and hit out after Emma Jones was sent a series of abusive messages. Jones, who works for Leeds, the BBC and Premier Sports, shared a photo on Twitter of herself wearing a tight-fitted dress on a rugby pitch.

She faced seveal abusive messages in response to that photo, with one saying: "How can you expect to be taken seriously as a football presenter by posting images like that." Jones hit back, saying: "I was hosting an awards ceremony & I felt lovely in my new dress, so I wanted to share it."

Woods also leapt to Jones' defence and insisted she should not stop posting images on social media. She said: "What some people don’t get is…you're allowed to be both! You're smart and you're beautiful. One shouldn't and doesn't cancel out the other. I absolutely love seeing other people's glams, women AND men. And if you stopped posting them I'd be pretty disappointed tbh."

Taking on Piers Morgan

Woods is also not afraid to take on the biggest names in both sport and news, brutally putting down Piers Morgan recently. Morgan has launched frequent attacks on Manchester United for moving Cristiano Ronaldo out of the club.

Fellow Arsenal fan Woods recently asked Morgan on her talkSPORT show: “If at the end of the season, Manchester United finish in the top four, will you come back on and apologise to Erik ten Hag?”

“Absolutely not,” he replied. “But when we hammer them on Sunday and when we win the league and when United do not win the league because they got rid of the GOAT, I expect Erik ten Hag to get on bended knee and beg me for forgiveness and apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo for the shocking disrespect that he showed him.”

Woods then brutally replied: “We’ll have to explain who you are to him first.”
