You may think that it's more environmentally friendly, and easier, to pee while you're in the shower, but a hygiene expert has warned that you shouldn't be doing this - and it's not for the reasons you may think.

It you wee in the shower, the thinking is you can immediately clean yourself afterwards. But hygiene expert, @madamesweat, warns against forming such habits, explaining why you need to use the toilet before you get into the cubicle.

Madame Sweat said: "Here's why you shouldn't pee pee in the shower - and no, it's not hygiene related. A urinal gynaecologist suggests that it's habit forming, and it's not a habit that you want to form.

"They suggest that perhaps we will hear and associate running water with the urge to urinate. This is just a bad habit. How about, just use the toilet before you get into the shower?"

A debate ensued in the comments, with many saying that they do wee in the shower, and others saying it's something they'd never do.

One wrote: "Everybody does it!", but another disagreed, commenting: "This is not something I would ever do." A TikToke user said they'd "heard of worse - peeing in the bath", and Madame Sweat was mortified, responding with: "Oh please no!"

"I love peeing in the shower, and I will not stop", someone argued, and one woman even said that everyone already "associates running water with urination", but Madame Sweat said: "Not everyone does."

A social media user even shared that they thought it was a good idea to pee in the shower because it "saves money", but the expert highlighted it just wasn't worth it.
