Peloton has revealed a Black Friday sale that brings the cost of the popular workout exercise bikes to a little over £1,000 for the first time.

The New York-based fitness company took the home exercise by storm in the last few years as people turned to home workouts during the pandemic. The company made its name by selling exercise bikes that come with a subscription to online trainers, classes and fitness analytics. Since then it has expanded into treadmills, apps and even workout wear as it bids to become the biggest fitness brand in the world.

Peloton does not come cheap. The cheapest exercise bike on the market is usually listed at £1,345 but you will also need a monthly subscription starting from £39 per month.

The best Black Friday Peloton deals

Peloton has cut the price of a basic bike package from £1,345 to £1,095, while a refurbished bike has dropped below £1,000 on the Peloton site in time for Black Friday. A package that adds shoes, a water bottle, a workout mat and weights has dropped in price for £1,235, which is a saving of £300.

The package is the cheapest you can buy a Peloton bike in the Black Friday sale, while the cheapest Peloton treadmill is now £2,995, down from £3,345. The treadmill is Peloton's own treadmill that can be used at home and is at the lowest price it has been in 2023.

Peloton has also dropped the price of its camera system from £225 to £150. The camera can be connected to a TV to allow home workouts and connect with trainers around the world.

The deals can also be found on the Amazon Peloton store, which has the standard Peloton bike listed at £1,040.

Cheaper alternatives to Peloton

Argos has cut the price of an exercise bike in the Black Friday sale. The Adidas C-21 Bluetooth exercise bike was £549 and is now £329 in the Black Friday sale. While not an exact alternative to Peloton - it is a more budget offering - it does come in at a third of the cost of the pricier rival and does connect to Zwift, which is an online community of cyclists.

You can also connect to Kinomap, which allows you to take on challenges with friends and connect to challenges and immersive video. You can see the deal here.

The Echelon Connect Sport Smart Exercise Bike is a lot closer to being a direct Peloton rival. Anybody who buys the bike Includes 45 days free Echelon Premier Membership, which like Peloton comes with access to classes such as yoga, pilates, zumba and HIIT. Like Peloton, Echelon has branched out into other workout kit with rowing machines and treadmills part of the range.

The Echelon option comes with a price tag that is currently half that of Peloton too. Amazon has the bike on sale for £551, down from £799.
