A Place in The Sun star Laura Hamilton has opened up about her dating life and revealed she's in no rush to settle down after her sad split from husband Alex Goward. The couple married in 2012 and called it quits in January 2022.

The property expert and TV presenter, 42, revealed she has since been on plenty of dates with men but hasn't found the right man. The mother-of-two spoke out on how 'picky' she is in her choice of men but is hoping to find a genuine connection and chemistry with one of her dates.

In an interview she expressed: “I’ve been on some great dates, to some lovely restaurants, on a ­picnic, to the theatre. But I get the ‘ick’ quite quickly. Once I’ve got the ick, I’m done." Laura revealed she looking to find someone who will become her best friend.

“It has to be someone who I can be myself with, and is my best friend — and trust is everything for me. It always has been, and I don’t think that is much to ask," she added when speaking with The Sun on Sunday,

In her daily life, Laura is a doting mum of two children, Tahlia, eight, and son Rocco, nine, whom she shares with her ex. At the time of her split from Alex Goward, Laura shared that the couple separated on mutual terms and would co-parent their small children. She said: "Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time."

For more than a decade, Laura has been presenting on Channel 4's A Place in The Sun alongside Jasmine Harman, and Scarlette Douglas. She also participated in Dancing on Ice in 2011 and finished second place.

Earlier this year, the estate agent revealed she was caught up in a car crash in Spain. The TV presenter was filming the Channel 4 property show when the crash happened, but said luckily “no one was hurt”. She was able to make a quick recovery as the situation was a “minor incident”.

At the time, she said: "Unfortunately (and for the first time ever abroad) I had a car accident as I was on the way to our first property. Before anything was over-dramatised, it was a minor incident and more importantly no one was hurt. However, I still felt pretty rubbish.”
