An ITV crew member was forced to interrupt a live segment to rescue Laura Hamilton on This Morning.

The 41-year-old was presenting the competition segment of the ITV show when she was reporting from a lazy river while she sat in a blow up raft. But things didn't go quite to plan as she got swept away by the current. As she pushed off from the side of the pool she started to zoom away down the river as she floated away and gave the camera a wave. However, just a few seconds later a faint voice could be heard in the distance

She could be heard saying she had got stuck further down the river which is when an ITV crew member had to come to the rescue. They reached out a long pole, which is thought to be part of a microphone, to help Laura get out of the awkward situation.

Rochelle Humes, who was presenting the show from London said: "Oh my god, he's actually gone to rescue the mic! I knew it!" The funny moment comes soon after Laura opened up about her dating life and that she is in no rush to settle down. She split from husband Alex Goward in 2022 after tying the knot in 2012. She said she has since been on multiple dates but hasn't managed to find the right man for her.

The mum-of-two spoke out on how "picky" she is in her choice of men but is hoping to find a genuine connection and chemistry with one of her dates. In an interview said: "I’ve been on some great dates, to some lovely restaurants, on a picnic, to the theatre. But I get the 'ick' quite quickly. Once I’ve got the ick, I’m done."

Laura revealed she looking to find someone who will eventually become her best friend. "It has to be someone who I can be myself with, and is my best friend — and trust is everything for me. It always has been, and I don’t think that is much to ask," she added when speaking with The Sun on Sunday.

Away from her TV day job, Laura is a mum of two to Tahlia, eight, and son Rocco, nine, whom she shares with her ex. At the time of her split from Alex Goward, she shared that the couple separated on mutual terms and would co-parent their small children. She said: "Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time."

For over a decade, Laura has been presenting on Channel 4's A Place in The Sun alongside Jasmine Harman, and Scarlette Douglas. However, away from the popular show, Laura has taken on other TV opportunities as well. She is often seen presenting segments on ITV's This Morning.
