The first clip from the upcoming "Saw X" movie has been released - featuring potentially the horror franchise's goriest scene yet.

The trailer reveals a bone-chilling 'Eyeball Trap' game in which the Jigsaw killer strapped a man into a chair as he threatened the victim's eyesight - and possibly his life.

In the unsettling teaser, a man - who is referred to by Jigsaw as a hospital janitor - is tied down to a chair and unable to move any of his limbs or face. The young man was seen with a device clamped around his eyes and a gadget attached to all of his fingers on one hand. He is seen in full-blown panic as Jigsaw says to him: "I’d like to play a game. Perhaps one that addresses those ‘sticky’ fingers of yours."

John Kramer, the character behind the Jigsaw killer mask, tells the man that he has 60 seconds to complete his game or his eyeballs will pay the price. Jigsaw says to the man in his creepy, deep voice: "You have the ability to not only save your soul today but your sight. All you have to do is click the dial across the five positions and you will live to see another day."

The man was immediately filled with fear as he frantically struggled in the chair and called out for help. The janitor was seen drenched in sweat as he anxiously realised that the only way out of the sick trap was to break all five of his own fingers. In the unnerving clip, viewers watch as the man's finger bends, cracks and breaks after turning the dial.

Fans of the Saw series flocked to the comments of the video posted on Twitter sharing their reactions to the 'Eyeball Trap' as they claimed that it fails in comparison to some of the other more twisted traps victims in the Saw universe have previously endured.

One fan wrote: "I have an eye phobia, I’m losing it." Another added: "Quick turn to five broken fingers then one year later you’ll be back to normal unless there's a Saw twist."

And a third said: "So, 5 broken fingers to save his eyes from getting sucked out? As far as the Saw universe is concerned, dude got off lightly! Still can't watch them though."

"Saw X" - the tenth installment of the Saw series - comes to theaters at the end of this month serving as a sequel to the 2004 Saw movie and a prequel to the 2005 film Saw II. The upcoming Kevin Greutert film has been described as the "most disturbing" movie of the franchise yet as the official trailer teased that "Jigsaw is back."

The new film follows John as he travels to Mexico to search for an experimental and risky medical procedure in hopes of curing his cancer. When he arrives to his destination, he discovers that the entire operation was fake and used to scam the most vulnerable of people. Jigsaw upon discovering this is filled with rage as he seeks revenge on the con artists using his infamous deranged traps.
