Zodiac sign most likely to cheat due to 'competitiveness', according to expert
Some people put a lot of faith in astrology and whether or not a person’s star sign can actually determine whether they will cheat. And while many might think generalising that all a particular sign is predisposed to infidelity is a load of rubbish, what if there was research to back it up?
Ashley Madison, the dating website for married people, surveyed more than 21,400 of their members to discover traits connected to cheating, and the results about zodiac signs are quite surprising.
According to the findings, when it comes to cheating it’s goaty Capricorns you have to watch out for. The site, whose slogan is ‘Life is Short – Have An Affair!’, who also analysed the number of new sign-ups over a five-year period, also noted that it had an increase of 8.1% between December and January.
Capricorns are born between 22nd December and 20th January, so it appears they are either using their birthdays as inspiration for infidelity or getting caught up in the festive and New Year spirit.
To understand a little more about the findings, the Mirror spoke to Inbaal Honigman, celebrity psychic and astrologer, who said: “Every sign of the zodiac has a different reason for falling in love and cheating! Water signs, like Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio are very romantic and love being with somebody.

"Fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are very passionate and need someone in bed with them. Air signs like Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini are intellectual and enjoy having a partner to talk to and go to the movies with. Earth signs are practical and think that two can live as cheaply as one.
“By the same token, different signs cheat for very different reasons, and in very different ways. An air sign may have an entire relationship with someone they've never met because they find them intellectually stimulating. It might not be technically cheating, but they're mentally devoted to that person.
“A water sign may get caught up in emotions and imagine that they are falling for someone new, whereas actually, the cold light of day will show them that it was only an illusion. Earth signs are drawn to strong personalities so they'd cheat with someone prettier or wealthier than their partner. Fire signs may cheat if the moment is right.”
Reflecting on the Ashley Madison study, Inbaal added: “Capricorns may be the ones honest enough to admit to the cheating, yet dishonest enough to go ahead with the cheating - this is a very specific honesty rating and individual to Capricorns. If you're dating a Capricorn, know that they are competitive, so they need to have the best partner.
"Best looking, most intelligent, nicest family background. To keep them from straying, keep letting them know how you're the best, otherwise, they'll eventually meet someone who's a bigger, better deal, and then it can get risky. In astrology circles, and even outside of them, Geminis are usually seen as the most likely to be unfaithful, because Gemini is a dual sign and can live two different lives and love two different partners and see no issue with it.
“Scorpios are very passionate and so are similarly seen as quick to stray, as they combine the water element, which is the most romantic, with the planet Mars, their ruler, which is very fiery."
