My Mum, Your Dad viewers are convinced a "plot twist" will air during the series.

Viewers believe that it won't just be the contestants who end up finding romance on the new dating series, but that their adult children could also end up finding love. Comparing the show to Love Island, some fans believed there could be drama amongst the youngsters, more so than their parents.

Davina McCall's new reality show, which sees mature men and women looking for love with the help of their adult children, kicked off on Monday night as the mums and dads met for the first time. Dubbed the "middle aged Love Island", conversation turned to finding love and who fancied who. But what the parents didn't know was that they were being watched - and we don't mean by the camera crews.

In a major twist, host Davina gathered the kids of each contestant, who had driven them to a luxury property, in a secret surveillance room. They were soon told that they would be able to watch their mother or father's every move, as well as be involved in how their experiences go.

Viewers tuning into the series believed that some of the children of the contestants seemed like typical Love island contestants. With a lot of the focus of the launch episode being on them watching their parents, viewers were divided over the amount of screen time they were getting.

Some viewers questioned whether as the series goes on, we might see more of the younger stars of the show and whether they too could get closer. While some of the contestants' kids revealed they were in relationships, it didn't stop viewers speculating romance could be on the horizon for some of them.

One viewer tweeted: "Kind of intrigued to see if any of the single kids gets get on too," as another said: "Oooh plot twist!" A third fan tweeted: "I wonder if any of the kids will get together," as a fourth tweeted: "Odds on that the 'kids' are all gonna fall in love too."

The comments kept on coming too, with one reading: "Wonder how many of the kids will hook up rather than the parents!" and another said: "Wonder if the kids will get it on too."
