Davina McCall is back with Your Mum, My Dad and this time, she’s helping eight singletons - four men and four women - look for love. The twist? The contestants are all middle-aged single parents wanting a second chance at love, and have been nominated by their grown up kids.

The new dating ITV dating show launched on Monday night, and will air every evening for two weeks as the contestants try to find love as their kids watch from a bunker hidden away on the lavish country estate. Viewers have already been left in tears after Roger shared details of his wife’s heartbreaking death during the first episode, but many have been distracted by the stunning luxury mansion and gorgeous interiors.

The house is reported to be worth more than £8 million, and is located in the picturesque Surrey countryside, near west Sussex. It boasts 45 acres of land, two swimming pools, a gym, sauna and hot tub, as well as tennis courts and breathtaking views. The dining room features a chic pink and gold colour scheme, with modern blush dining chairs around the rustic table, with patio doors opening out on the manicured garden. One of the bathrooms has a huge round brushed silver freestanding bathtub, along with a modern walk-in shower and more views of the surrounding lush lawns.

No dating show is complete without a swimming pool, and the indoor heated pool located on the mansion’s grounds are fit for royalty. Huge tropical plants are dotted around the huge pool, while a comfy sofa - hopefully for the contestants to get cosy on - also features, as well as sun loungers for those who want to relax. The fashionable interiors continue throughout the house, as the kitchen includes cute Art Deco-inspired tiles and splashbacks, and blush pink breakfast bar stools to match the dining chairs. A calming blue colour scheme has been adopted all around the house, with kitchen cabinets painted baby blue, a bright blue sofa in one of the lounges, and blue stripes on the garden furniture.

Viewers have been impressed with the first episode of the dating series, dubbed Love Island for the over-50s, and one contestant has won over new fans of the show. Roger, 58, spoke candidly about the death of his wife Joanne during his first date with fellow contestant Caroline, and he revealed she died only 18 months ago. He was nominated to take part in Your Mum, My Dad by his three children, and his daughter Jess was watching his progress from The Bunker as he spoke about his wife’s heartbreaking death from cancer last year.

Davina has been keen to dispel any comparisons of the show to Love Island, and has been overjoyed to be given the chance to front a show that featured people her age. “It was like a dream come true to walk into an entertainment TV show, on prime time ITV, and see my people, a bunch of mid-lifers,” she told The Sun. “I wanted to see midlife as represented in terms of dating because this second time around thing often happens in your forties or fifties, where you’ve got children… life is complicated."

Your Mum, My Dad continues on Tuesday at 9pm, ITV
