Inside Bill Murray and Kelis' whirlwind romance after 'amicable split'
Hollywood actor Bill Murray and singer Kelis have ended their relationship after just two months of dating.
The couple, who met last year but only reportedly began dating in June, have hopes to remain friends with the split described as 'amicable'. The couple, who have a 28 year age gap between them with Bill aged 72 and Kelis aged 44, are described as being "fond of each other" but have ultimately decided to "go their separate ways" and call time on their romance.

Bill and Kelis might not have seemed like the most obvious couple, but reportedly got together in June this year despite meeting in 2022. The couple reportedly got close when Kelis performed at the Mighty Hoopla festival in Brockwell Park, South London as she took to the stage with some of her biggest hits including 'Milkshake'. Reports say that Bill was seen backstage supporting the star and the couple also stayed at the same hotel, where they reportedly started what would become their whirlwind romance.
When news of their romance first emerged, a source at the time shared: "Whatever brought them together, they are both single and having fun despite the fairly big age gap."

Another source revealed a shared experience that brought them closer, as they said: "They’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them."

'Ghostbusters' legend and 'Groundhog day' actor Bill has six children with his two ex-wives and his previous romance before Kelis was with Jennifer Butler, who was married to Murray from 1997 to 2008. Jennifer sadly died two years ago at the beginning of 2021 aged just 54.
Kelis' previous dating history includes rapper Nas, who she was with in the early 2000s and they quickly became a musical power couple and married in 2005 and now share son Knight Jones together. The relationship wasn't meant to be, with Kelis later claiming their relationship was abusive.
Kelis also later dated photographer Mike Mora, with the couple sharing two children together called Galilee Mora and Shepherd Mora. Mike Mora died in March 2022, with Bill and Kelis' shared bereavements reportedly one of the common factors that bonded them together.

The couple called time on their relationship in August, with Kelis reportedly the driver behind the split. A source claimed to The Sun : "Kelis and Bill were — and still are — very fond of each other, but things just ran their course. They both have busy schedules, and after a whirlwind romance, decided to go their separate ways."
They added that they "hope to remain friends" but will be focused on moving on with their lives. Kelis also addressed her and Bill when replying to comments querying about her relationship with the "Ant-Man" actor on a recent Instagram post as she replied, "Ugh, no!" to one user's question asking if they were official. She added in another response that both her and Murray are "blessed, rich and happy," but beyond that, refused to officially comment on the relationship rumours that have been stirring the internet for months.
