Kelis shares moment her and her kids 'almost fell off a cliff' during snowstorm

Kelis has opened up on the scary moment her car nearly fell off a cliff during the recent Californian snowstorms.

The Milkshake singer, 43, found herself in a dangerous situation as she traveled with her kids in the extreme weather conditions.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a clip in which she took a look at the damage caused in the incident as her vehicle was left perilously hanging over a cliff.

While the mum-of-three didn't reveal which of her kids - or if all of them - were present during the situation, the songstress said in the post: "My truck got stuck ... it's, like, hanging."

Captioning her upload, she wrote: "My plan was to take the kids to the snow, but we almost fell off a cliff ! So make the best of what ya got, n always be prepared lol #bigbear #blizzard #snowstorm #rescue #fashion #grateful."

She showed her vehicle at the edge of the cliff amid the snowy conditions and revealed how her tyres had become thick of snow. She continued: "Praise God the tow truck actually made it - we've been outside for a while."

And the singer - whose real name is Kelis Rogers-Mora - added that she donned "ridiculous... rescue fashion" and a number of layers to keep her warm.

Kelis was sporting her heavy snowboarding gear, including a puffy green coat and thick scarf as she and her family narrowly avoided the disaster. She also donned a pair of snow boots and brown snowboarding pants to combat the unprecedented weather.

She added that it wasn't just the snow causing her issues as she admitted the darkness was causing havoc.

"I've got my light on, thank God, because it's pitch black out here," she confessed. "Silver boots [for] a little reflective action. Things could be worse."

Fans were quick to comment on her post to share their concern as well as their relief she stayed safe. One user wrote: "Omg …. Not you almost falling off a cliff in style. It’s not even funny but I’m glad your smiling and making light of a scary situation. I hope the kids aren’t too shaken up. I would have been a nervous wreck."

Another penned: "Absolutely Prayerful that everyone is ok! My Goodness, how scary & it’s also good to have a sense of humor to ease the situation especially for the Bambino’s. Your utilitarian skills went into action."

And a third said: "OMG sis! So glad you and the kids are OK. We gotta protect you at all costs!"
