Barbie fans who know that they're Kenough and feel ready to Beach have the opportunity to take on the once in a lifetime role.

As the Greta Gerwig smash interpretation of Mattel's iconic doll made very clear, Barbies (and women) can be anything they want, whether that be a doctor, president or mermaid. The same applies of Kens, with the film's primary hunk (played by Ryan Gosling) taking on the role of Beach.

Now Coco Collection – a luxury resort group in the Maldives – has announced it is hiring for the same role, giving one lucky person the chance to spend 10 nights living Ken’s job of the last 60 years.

The winner will be flown out to the breathtaking Coco Bodu Hithi resort, where they will take up the role of Beach for 10 days out from reality. Located in the North Malé Atoll, Coco Bodu Hithi offers picture perfect white sandy beaches and beautiful shorelines the entire way around - making it the perfect place to get stuck into the important job.

The success of the Barbie film and storming performance of Ryan Gosling has reignited interest in Ken, a sculpted but sometimes overlooked doll.

The fashion doll was introduced in 1961 as Barbie's boyfriend and has come to be known by his singular first name. However, he has a middle and a surname.

Ken was created by Mattel co-founder Ruth Handler, who named him after her son, whose full name is Kenneth Seth Carson. In the 1960s Random House books about the toys, the character Ken was officially given the surname Carson.

Ken's "official" birthday, which he was introduced to shelves, is March 11 1961, making him a Pisces. Ken was made in response to those who wrote in to Mattel, the company Ruth co-created with her husband Elliot, complaining about Barbie being single.

In response, they created the very first Ken doll, sporting a red bathing suit and cork sandals. He was sold at 12 inches tall, half an inch taller than Barbie - and they were both meant to be from the fictional town of Willows, Wisconsin.
