Here's the very best way to take your character from level 1 to level 5 as quickly as possible in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 is a game where grinding is, initially, inevitable. After all, Activision Blizzard wants you to experience the story-driven campaign with a difficulty curve that moves gradually upwards, but once this is finished – and you’ve unlocked the higher World Tiers – the real fun begins. If you’re interested in Diablo 4 power levelling in a way that lets you dive into Season of the Malignant and other endgame content without having to waste tens of hours, there’s a great method you can try.

The only prerequisites for undertaking this Diablo 4 power levelling method are that you need to have already finished the campaign at least once and have a friend who is a high-level character available to join your party. While this might seem a tad confusing for players who want to jump from level 1 to level 50 as fast as possible right away, the campaign is crucial to get done, because then you’ll be able to use this method on any character going forward, including for use within Diablo 4 Season 1 and beyond.

Diablo 4 power levelling explained

Diablo 4 power levelling is all geared around unlocking World Tier 4 (the highest World Tier, at present) as fast as possible. This is because the rewards you gain while playing are of a greater rarity and the amount of XP you get for defeating even the simplest of enemies is increased. Before unlocking World Tier 4, though, you’ll need to unlock World Tier 3.

To unlock World Tier 3 in Diablo and start power levelling, you’ll want to create a new character in World Tier 2 and choose the “Skip Campaign” option from the menu, providing you’ve already completed it at least once. From here, have someone who is a high-level character (ideally 50 or above) join your party and head to the capstone dungeon in Kyovashed, otherwise known as the Cathedral of Light.

Simply have your friend demolish the hordes while you stay at the capstone dungeon’s entrance, where you’ll gain all the XP for doing absolutely nothing as your high-level friend does all the work. With the dungeon complete, head back to the centre of Kyovashad and inspect the World Tier statue. This will unlock World Tier 3. To unlock World Tier 4 you’ll need to repeat a similar process, the only difference being that the capstone dungeon moves from Kyovashed to the Dry Steppes and is called the Fallen Temple.

Once World Tier 4 is unlocked, you’ll be able to enjoy the maximum amount of XP when defeating monsters throughout Diablo 4. From here, it’s just a simple matter of you and your friend grinding high-level dungeons using the same method as you did for the two capstone dungeons until your character hits level 50. This Diablo 4 power levelling method will see you gain a high-level character in a matter of hours, as opposed to potentially dozens of hours. What’s more, this can be used within either the standard Eternal Realm or the three-month-long Seasonal Realm, depending on where you want your new character to sit.
