Manchester United are set to complete their third signing of the summer with the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in a deal worth around £72million.

Erik ten Hag has been searching for a new striker all summer and he is finally set to get his man, with Hojlund expected to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old Denmark international will follow Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door at the Red Devils after they joined earlier this month.

Although United could make more signings, it is thought their focus is on outgoings with several players linked with moves away from the club. With that in mind, here are the latest transfer rumours coming out of United with two weeks to go until the Premier League opener against Wolves.

Amrabat ready to make Man Utd move

Sofyan Amrabat is said to be 'super keen' to join Manchester United as rumours continue to circulate over his future and a proposed move to Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United have held discussions with his representatives and are now being urged to agree a deal with Fiorentina. Ten Hag worked with Amrabat when he was in charge of Dutch side Utrecht, promoting him from the academy to the first team.

However, it is understood United may have to sell to buy after getting a deal for Hojlund all but over the line. United have already banked around £20m from the sales of Anthony Elanga and Alex Telles, who have joined Nottingham Forest and Al Nassr respectively.‌

Eric Bailly, Dean Henderson, Fred and Donny van de Beek have also been told they can leave, while United will consider selling Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay for the right money.

Lazio plot Fred move

Lazio are plotting a move to sign Fred as United consider whether to sell the midfielder this summer. The Brazilian, who is valued at around £20m, could be allowed to leave the Red Devils following the arrival of Mason Mount. Fulham are among those who are supposedly interested in Fred.

But, according to Corriere Dello Sport via Sport Witness, Lazio are weighing up over whether to make a bid for the 30-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford. During his time at the Red Devils, Fred has made over 200 appearances, scoring 13 times.

Greenwood eyes United stay

Mason Greenwood wants to stay at United and has held "positive" talks with club chiefs ahead of a huge decision. Greenwood was suspended by United in January 2022 after being arrested on suspicion of rape and assault on a woman. He was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill but the charges were subsequently dropped in February of this year.

He remains sidelined by United, although an internal investigation is close to being completed. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford. A season-long loan move to Atalanta has been mooted, while Roma and Juventus also remain in the mix.

However, according to The Sun, Greenwood is confident of being retained by United. It's claimed there have been "positive" talks between the two parties. A source told the paper: "He’s being encouraged to speak publicly and to have his voice heard. But, privately, he has told those close to him that he has learned a huge amount. He became a father for the first time earlier this month and realises he has to grow up."
