Man Utd turned down FOUR transfers

Manchester United have turned down the chance to sign FOUR players on a frantic transfer deadline day.

The Red Devils were initially expected to have a quiet end to the window, but Christian Eriksen's ankle injury has forced to Erik ten Hag to find a replacement.

Eriksen limped out of Saturday's 3-1 win against Reading and is not expected to play again until April.

As Eriksen is a key player for United, Ten Hag has been keen to secure a replacement before Tuesday's deadline.

A loan move for Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer quickly became their preferred choice and the Austria international will join until the end of the season.

No buy option for Sabitzer

There'll be no option to buy included in Bayern Munich's deal with Manchester United to loan Marcel Sabitzer, German outlet Sport1 claim.

The Austrian midfielder, 28, is heading to Old Trafford to ease the Red Devils' woes in midfield which have been brought on by injuries.

Eriksen out until April

Manchester United have confirmed that Christian Eriksen will be ruled out until at least the end of April with an ankle injury.

The news may force Erik ten Hag back into the transfer market for a new midfielder, though the clock is ticking.

United make Kamada enquiry

Manchester United have made an enquiry about Daichi Kamada's availability, according to the Daily Mail.

The Japan international, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season. He is currently on the books at Eintract Frankfurt.

The Red Devils are looking for a new central midfielder after losing Christian Eriksen to injury. He will not play again until April.

Marcel Sabitzer could join United on loan from Bayern Munich.

ICYMI - Inter call off moves for United pair

Inter Milan are set to call off their potential moves for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

The Serie A side were interested in the Manchester United duo with Milan Skriniar set to join PSG.

But according to Sky Italia that deal has collapsed after Inter rejected the Ligue 1 side's opening offer, with PSG declining the chance to increase their bid.

ICYMI - United 'offered' Carrasco

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid.

According to the Daily Telegraph, contract has already taken place between Carrasco's representatives and United. But the Red Devils are only interested in a loan move for the Atletico star.

And that means that it is more likely that Carrasco will be joining Barcelona in the summer, with the Catalan giants also interested in the midfielder.

Sabitzer boards flight

Manchester United have until 11pm to complete the loan signing of Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich.

The Austrian midfielder, 28, emerged as a last-minute target for Erik ten Hag after United were hit with the crushing news that Christian Eriksen would be out for three months.

Sabitzer was spotted en route to Manchester airport with less than six hours to go until the deadline, with the former RB Leipzig captain understood to be keen on the move which could include an option to buy.

His arrival can be completed despite the fact that the German transfer market already slammed shut at 5pm UK time. Crucially, the closing of that window doesn't prevent Bundesliga clubs from offloading players.

With United and their fellow Premier League sides able to sign players until their own 11pm deadline, Sabitzer is still able to the switch if Old Trafford chiefs are quick enough.

Sabitzer at Munich aiport

Sky Germany claim that Manchester United have entered pole position to sign Marcel Sabitzer, who's now at Munich aiport.

Chelsea were also interested in the 28-year-old Austrian midfielder.

German deadline no issue for Sabitzer

Manchester United have more than six hours to seal a loan deal for Marcel Sabitzer, despite the German market closing in only 20 minutes' time.

Clubs like Bayern Munich are still able to sell players to Premier League sides until 11pm tonight.

Kane urged to leave Spurs

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged Harry Kane to leave Tottenham, with the Red Devils one of the teams interested in the England captain.

"There's no doubting what a player he is, [there's] a high, high ceiling for this guy, what a player. But what did you start playing football for? Did you start to be the top goalscorer or to win trophies?" he said on Vibe with Five.

"I want Harry Kane to come out and just put me to bed and say, 'listen, I'm playing for my boyhood club and I can't be any happier'. If you say that, it shuts up all arguments and conversations. But until I hear that, we're within our right to question and ask, 'why?'"

Saha warns against Tielemans move

Louis Saha has urged former club Manchester United to avoid making a move for Youri Tielemans.

“No doubt he’s a great player for Leicester City and he could be a great player for Manchester United but it’s not an option that greatly excites me. I’ve heard his name mentioned quite a lot over the past two years," he told The Games Cabin.

"I’m not quite sure what role he would have as I don’t believe he would be capable of providing the same level of recoveries as Casemiro achieves or the same number of assists that Christain Eriksen gets.

"He’s a great player but would he be a decisive addition? I’m not sure. Manchester United shouldn’t panic as it’s not the way they need to act.”

Why McNeill made Newport move

Manchester United academy starlet Charlie McNeill joined League Two side Newport County earlier today on loan until the end of the season - a surprise move to some fans given his youth football pedigree.

The highly-rated striker, 19, explained after the deal was confirmed: "I'm really proud and honoured to be representing this club. I know it's a big club and a family-based club and I'm just really happy to be here.

"The gaffer made me feel really comfortable as soon as I spoke to him, he was really nice, he really sold it to me. I can't wait to meet the lads, get training and hopefully play the game on Saturday!"

DONE DEAL: Bernard heads out

Manchester United defender Di'Shon Bernard has joined Portsmouth on loan until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old centre-back has been back at Old Trafford this term after spending a campaign with Hull City last time out.

A nice bit of social media work from Pompey to announce this one.

United 'confident' of successful Sabitzer move

Manchester United are reportedly 'confident' of completing a loan move for Marcel Sabitzer.

The Red Devils have been forced into the market after Christian Eriksen was ruled out until the end of April.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have set their sights on Sabitzer and are confident of bringing him to Old Trafford.

It will not be a permanent deal though, with boss Erik ten Hag willing to wait until the summer to bring in a younger midfielder.

Sabitzer responds to offer

Marcel Sabitzer has reportedly told Manchester United that he is open to moving to Old Trafford.

The midfielder did not train with Bayern Munich today as the two clubs remain in talks over a loan deal.

Sabitzer move slammed

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has slammed Manchester United's decision to launch a late move for Marcel Sabitzer.

"He doesn't get in the Bayern Munich team. He's way off that. I know they've got the two in midfield cemented but if he was that good, he'd be pushing," Merson told Sky Sports.

"So again it goes back to panic. There's no interest in him on January 1, now it's a panic. Eriksen's just got injured and it's a panic. This lad weren't on the radar before, he doesn't get in the Bayern Munich team.

"If I'm a Man United fan, I'll be looking and going 'he doesn't get in Bayern Munich's team, nowhere near it, so if he's not playing why would we want him?'. Are there players there that are better than him? In my opinion yes."

United 'offered' Carrasco

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid.

According to the Daily Telegraph, contract has already taken place between Carrasco's representatives and United. But the Red Devils are only interested in a loan move for the Atletico star.

And that means that it is more likely that Carrasco will be joining Barcelona in the summer, with the Catalan giants also interested in the midfielder.

United launch Sabitzer move

Manchester United have launched a late move for Marcel Sabitzer following Christian Eriksen's injury blow.

Eriksen has been ruled out until at least the end of April, with Erik ten Hag now exploring possible replacements.

According to BILD, the Red Devils are in talks with Bayern Munich about a move for Marcel Sabitzer.

But they have just four hours to complete the deal before the German window closes.

United urged to make Chiesa move

Manchester United legend Paul Ince has urged his former club to make a move for Federico Chiesa.

"Federico Chiesa has only just started playing for Juventus again after a long-term injury but prior to that he was unplayable. The intensity is very different in Italy compared to England," Ince told Premier League Odds.

"When I went to Inter Milan I thought it was going to be tough for me, I didn't know if I could get away with my playing style at Inter but it worked out ok.

"If Chiesa was to come to Man United then I think the fans would love him. I've seen him play on numerous occasions and he'd be a perfect, perfect fit for Man United."

Inter set to call off moves for United duo

Inter Milan are set to call off their potential moves for Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

The Serie A side were interested in the Manchester United duo with Milan Skriniar set to join PSG.

But according to Sky Italia that deal has collapsed after Inter rejected the Ligue 1 side's opening offer, with PSG declining the chance to increase their bid.
