Man Utd lose seven players and sign three as January transfer window closes
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag now knows the players at his disposal for the remainder of the season with the January transfer window coming to a close.
The Red Devils rounded off their winter business on Tuesday evening following what has been a hectic window for the Dutch head coach. A number of players both departed and arrived at Old Trafford throughout January and will hope to have quick starts to life with either United or their new clubs.
With all that being said, take a look at all of the deals that Man Utd have managed to get over the line throughout the window:
INS
The first arrival of the window was Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland. The former Stoke and Birmingham stopper penned a loan deal until the end of the campaign to provide more competition to the club’s current goalkeeping department.
Previous loanee Martin Dubravka was initially playing that role but his recall to Newcastle forced the Red Devils back into the market with Butland the man arriving.
Marcel Sabitzer completes Man Utd transfer after last-minute deadline day dashThe second confirmed deal signed off by the Red Devils’ hierarchy was a move for Burnley striker Wout Weghorst. Ten Hag was desperate to bolster his attacking options this window but with funds tight, only a loan was possible once more.

Ten Hag’s countryman Weghorst was identified with the Red Devils rubber-stamping a complicated deal with Burnley and Turkish giants Besiktas. The Dutch striker has already enjoyed a bright start to life at Old Trafford having scored in their EFL Cup semi-final first leg against Nottingham Forest.
The final arrival was Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer. The Austrian also became a loan recruit with the Red Devils having dipped into the market following an injury sustained by Christian Eriksen.
OUTS
One of the most prominent deals of the window took place actually before it even opened. Following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo's Red Devils contract was cancelled and he now finds himself at Saudi club Al-Nassr.
Away from Ronaldo’s departure, United have attempted to get a clutch of their young stars more first-team experience. 18-year-old winger Shola Shoretire has put pen to paper on a loan deal with Bolton and will be joined in League One by Di’Shon Bernard who has joined Portsmouth.
The son of pundit Robbie, Charlie Savage is also set to get a taste of first-team football with a temporary switch to Forest Green Rovers. Finally, young duo Charlie McNeil and Ondrej Mastny have joined Newport and Portadown respectively.
The final exit of the window was a switch for defender Axel Tuanzebe who was allowed to join Stoke City as a replacement for Harry Souttar, who joined Leicester. A number of the club's other first-team stars Anthony Elanga, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof were all linked with moves over the final days of the window but in the end remained at Old Trafford.
