Pep Guardiola feeling "like a failure" again as Julia Roberts shows true colours
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola made his feelings clear about Julia Roberts' fondness for Manchester United, and the actress' latest meeting with the Red Devils is unlikely to change that.
Roberts has visited Old Trafford in the past, leaving Guardiola frustrated he couldn't tempt the Ocean's Eleven star to the Etihad Stadium. The Catalan coach considers Roberts one of "three idols" in his life, along with athletes Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.
The 55-year-old was one of the first to congratulate Guardiola after the manager led City to their first treble in June. However, just weeks later, she has paid United another visit during their pre-season tour of the United States.
United shared a set of photos after their pre-season friendly against Arsenal, including one in which manager Erik ten Hag can be seen presenting Roberts with a personalised Man Utd shirt. "So good to see Julia Roberts once again following Saturday's game!" the caption reads.
Roberts, a Best Actress Oscar winner for her title role in 'Erin Brockovich', also posed with Marcus Rashford and Casemiro in the first set of photos. United later added another snap, with Roberts holding up Lisandro Martinez's shirt as she poses with the centre-back as well as England stars Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw.

“I have three idols in my life. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Julia Roberts. These are my three idols," Guardiola said in March.
“Julia Roberts years ago came to Manchester - not in the 90s when Sir Alex [Ferguson] was winning titles and titles and titles. She came in the period where we were better than United, in these four or five years, right?
“And she went to visit Man United. She didn't come to see us. That's why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn't come to see us."
While Man Utd's players were meeting Roberts, City were on the other side of the world taking on Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos. Erling Haaland scored twice in a 5-3 win, with John Stones, Julian Alvarez and Rodri also finding the net.
“He looks good," Guardiola said of Haaland. "He is still some way from his best condition, like everyone, but it was important for him to score two goals in the first game because last season he didn’t score at the end.
"It is important he knows our rhythm and principles and we are working all the time. We know exactly what he has to do. We know him - and in a few weeks he will be in better condition than now.”
