Footie hardman Roy Keane is a secret Homes Under the Hammer fan, a former player has revealed.

David Connolly, 45, said he went to a property auction during a day off while at Sunderland and was filmed for the hit BBC daytime show.

Then the day after it aired, the former striker said Keane, 51, who managed Sunderland from 2006 to 2008, ribbed him in training and asked: “Dave, what the bloody hell were you doing on Homes Under the Hammer?”

Connolly, who scored nine goals in 41 games for the Republic of Ireland, told a podcast: “And I go, ‘What are you doing watching Homes Under the Hammer?’

“Even Roy watches a bit of daytime TV. I’m sure he’s watching a bit of daytime TV even now.”

Keane’s former Man Utd teammate Dion Dublin is a Homes Under the Hammer presenter.

It comes after ITV pundit Keane and BBC counterpart Ian Wright were warned they wouldn't be getting pay rises.

The pair have become increasingly popular figures across football coverage across the UK.

But according to The Sun, pundits across the two channels have been told that nobody will be receiving pay boosts.

Keane's former team Man Utd got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Wolves.

It keeps them fourth in the Premier League, four points above fierce rivals Liverpool.
