Manchester United got back to winning ways on Thursday by beating Spanish outfit Real Betis 4-1 in the Europa League.

Goals from Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst helped Erik ten Hag's side win the first leg of their last-16 clash at Old Trafford. It also helped United fans banish the memories of their record-equalling 7-0 defeat at Liverpool last Sunday.

The Red Devils will be hoping their next Premier League fixture against struggling Southampton at home this Sunday will not be as horrific, as they sit third in the table. Here are the big talking points from Old Trafford ahead of that important clash.

Kane told to make move

Stan Collymore has told United target Harry Kane to leave Tottenham this summer - putting Ten Hag on red alert.

Collymore told Mirror Football, "I can see Harry Kane having three - possibly four - options in the summer: Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich... and Manchester City.

"I’m just speculating with City because I’m starting to wonder if Real Madrid might come in with a £150million-plus offer for Erling Haaland that might tempt them to sell this summer or next. And I also wonder if any part of Haaland thinks he’s not getting the opportunities to showcase all his footballing talents, his swagger, at the Etihad.

"I know he’s scoring a shedload of goals but it’s conceivable that he wants to leave a legacy on the game of a swashbuckling player who had it all rather than just someone who could poke them in from close range. We’ll see on that one but if he did go then, comparatively, they could get Kane, who they have tried to get before, for next to nothing.

"Either way, after Tottenham’s Champions League exit confirmed another trophy-less season for Kane, I’m convinced it’s a no-brainer for him to move on and, if he does go somewhere, it will come down to his chances of winning silverware and the supply line at his new club."

Crouch's Man Utd theory

Peter Crouch believes Liverpool were able to beat United 7-0 because "it's easy to get up" for fixture of that magnitude.

Jurgen Klopp's side followed that huge victory by losing 1-0 at Bournemouth on Saturday. Crouch explained to BT Sport, "It’s easy to get up for a Manchester United game. It’s a lot harder to come to Bournemouth, bottom of the league, for the early kick-off."

Glazers push back on sale

The Glazers are ready to extend their deadline to sell United after all interested parties failed to match their £5billion price tag.

United's owners put the club up for sale four months ago, with INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani both submitting offers. It is believed the Glazers have also received interest from those looking to buy a minority share.

The Glazers were initially planning on resolving the drama by April, but it appears their deadline has been pushed back until June. That could play havoc with Ten Hag's summer transfer plans, as the Glazers are unlikely to invest big in the squad if they are selling.

"Of course I know [about the bids]," said Ten Hag last month. "There's movement around the club but it's not up to me. Others at the club are taking this stuff and I have to manage the team... I have to make sure the team is perfect and getting the right results."
