Harry and Meghan enjoy Texas BBQ while joking about 'royal' portrait
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seen at a Texas barbecue after speaking at the SXSW conference on International Women's Day as Harry joked about posing with "royal" portrait
Meghan was a panelist alongside Brooke Shields, Katie Couric, author and sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen, and moderator Errin Haines during the SXSW Conference, which brought the couple to the city. During the International Women's Day panel discussion, "Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen," Prince Harry was seated among the women.
After the event, the pair went to La Barbecue. Their visit was arranged in advance. Meghan informed Director of Operations Cory Rivademar that she intended to stop by. However, the staff was unaware that Harry would be dropping in as well.

After entering, they took a tour of the pits with Frankie, the pit guy, and joked about how hot it was outside, "which is ironic considering that this is Texas and the weather can get considerably hotter than it does now." Since the restaurant was still open to the public, Rivademar claims that they ordered brisket and sausages and that they were "absolutely lovely" while posing for photos with the staff and other customers.

After the couple departed, according to Rivademar, she received a text from Meghan's reps stating that the BBQ was the finest they had ever had.
According to Rivademar, they appeared content, kind, and exquisite. She mentioned how their child enjoyed the recently released Disney film Wish, describing them as a "very genuine and very loving, happy couple." It was said that they were friendly to those who had no idea what was going on.
