Ralf Little has returned alongside his co-stars for the latest series of Death in Paradise, which celebrated its 100th episode earlier this month after having launched in 2011.

The actor, 44 - who rose to fame playing Antony Royle on the beloved sitcom the Royle Family - has played DI Neville Parker on the BBC show since 2020. And last year he made an appearance on the spin-off series Beyond Paradise.

Amid the return of Death in Paradise this month, the Mirror has taken a look at Ralf's life off-screen, including his relationship and what he likes to get up to in his spare time. It comes following the actor's birthday just a few days ago.

Ralf's in a relationship with playwright Lindsey Ferrentino, 36, whom he met when he was cast in a production of her play Ugly Lies the Bone, which ran at the National Theatre in London in 2017. He starred in it alongside Kris Marshall, who previously led the cast of Death in Paradise himself.

Lindsey, who's from the US, received the Kesselring Prize in 2016, which is given to "up and coming" playwrights whose work shows "great promise". She went on to release the acclaimed play Amy and the Orphans, which is reportedly being adapted into a film for streaming platform Netflix.

Paying tribute to his fiancée a years ago, Ralf told the Mirror in 2020: "She's doing annoyingly well. If we were ever going to be a power couple I'd have to seriously up my game." He further commented: "Her career is exploding in a way that makes me both incredibly proud, and obscenely jealous."

Discussing their relationship, the actor shared: "She's my best friend. This is the real thing for me." He added at the time: "We have the longest of long-distance relationships, she lives in the States." He teased: "It's like I have two lives".

Ralf proposed to Lindsey whilst they were away together at a country house back in 2018. He shared with us two years later: "It was very romantic. We were in a country house, it was a big surprise. To her, I mean, I planned it in advance."

He also discussed Lindsey's engagement ring. He said: "I had a total result with the ring, though. She said to me if she ever got engaged there's only one ring for her - her grandma's." Ralf added: "It's absolutely beautiful. And free."

Ralf previously shared that he splits his time between the UK, the US and Guadeloupe. The latter, which is located in the Caribbean, is where Death in Paradise is filmed. It's understood that the show is filmed over a six month period.

The former semi-professional footballer has spoken about his hobbies over the years. Ralf, who grew up in Bury, is understood to be a lifelong supporter of Manchester United - just like his pal and colleague Will Mellor, 47.

The pair - who worked together on the sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps more than a decade ago - now host their own podcast, Two Pints. The former co-stars are said to "chat s*** to each other" about various topics.

Ralf told the Standard last year: "I've always played football to stay fit, but I'm now at the age where I have to stay fit to play football." The actor, who has a home in London, added that he's part of a game at the Emirates Stadium's indoor hub with "a lot of people" from the same industry as him.

He teased to the outlet that he will turn up for matches and play against the likes of comedians Angus Deayton and David Baddiel. Ralf added that presenter Clive Anderson has been known to take part too and added: "It's good fun."

Ralf shared at the time that he'd become "quite a regular gym goer" in recent years but hadn't "settled on a local one yet". He noted that he's away "a lot" for work, adding that as a result he's found gym memberships to be "tricky".

Ralf has spoken about having adopted a vegan diet previously, including whilst on the One Show in 2022. Whilst discussing Veganuary with host Alex Jones, the guest shared: "I'm just giving it a go and so far it's going alright."

He has since suggested that he ended up being "pretty close to vegan" during the Covid pandemic. The actor shared his plans to adopt such a diet again during a Q&A on an Instagram Live in September last year whilst away.

Asked to roast dinners, he told fans: "I do like a chicken roast." He went on to suggest that when he returns to the UK, following filming of Death of Paradise's latest season, he would remove meat from his diet and have substitutes.

He commented at the time: "I don't know why I feel vaguely embarrassed about saying this, I just think because it's the kinda of thing that people roll their eyes at, but during the pandemic I kind of became, not 100% but pretty close to, vegan, just because I love all the substitutes so much."

Ralf added at the time: "That burger's as tasty as any burger I've ever had so I just won't kill anything to have it. [...] So maybe chicken roasts or meat roast dinners are going to be a thing of the past for me at some point soon, but right now the answer is a chicken roast [is my favourite]."

He's understood to have supported various charities over the years, including having reportedly raised money to help stray dogs in the Caribbean. He's promoted a number of causes over the years too, including having been vocal about wanting to address concerns over the environment.
