Death In Paradise star issues statement on show future after co-star's return

Death In Paradise star Ralf Little has issued a statement about his future on the BBC show - amid Kris Marshall's 'return'.

It has been confirmed that in the final episode of Beyond Paradise, DI Humphrey Goodman - played by Kris - will make a return to the fictional island of Saint Marie, where he first took on his detective duties in the show.

The announcement had some fans speculating whether Humphrey might remain on the island and either work alongside current DI Neville Parker - played by Ralf Little - or replace him permanently.

Ralf has now taken to Instagram to insist he will be back full time on the new series of the BBC show.

A teaser video from the final episode of Beyond Paradise shows Humphrey - played by Kris - making a return to Saint Marie where he returns to his former home, the shack on the beach, and coming across a very familiar face from the past.

BBC bosses have teased fans will be very excited by the crossover, as Kris shared: "I was honoured and delighted to return to Guadeloupe as part of Humphrey’s journey in Beyond Paradise, and to rekindle my deep passion for the island."

In the final episode of the series, DI Humphrey Goodman is struggling with the recent events, so much so that he is considering his future in Shipton Abbott and makes a trip to his former home.

Kris previously teased he could return to Death In Paradise for a special episode with all the other detectives from the past.

"I would say there's always a possibility of something like that," he explained to Digital Spy about what could happen in the BBC show in the future, "I’d love to bring them all back, really, for different reasons. I had such a wonderful time. I think it'd be awesome to have all four detectives in one show or one episode together, as a meta thing where their worlds collide."
