There are plenty of cruise holidays in 2024 to get excited about, especially thanks to the latest wave of new ships launching in the coming months.

According to one travel insider, if you're hoping to bag some great cruise deals then you'll want to aim for specific windows when booking your next sailing. Yasim Pekel, a travel expert at Blue Cruise, has shared some of their hacks for landing the best bargains on cruises, most of which require minimal effort but can mean big rewards.

According to Yasim, it's best to get in as early as possible - for example, keeping an eye on when cruise lines launch sales or open bookings for a new itinerary. However don't fret if you've missed the window; in this case, you may want to hold off until last minute.

She explained: "Booking well in advance or at the last minute can sometimes lead to significant discounts. Cruise lines often offer early bird promotions and last-minute deals. Savings could range from around 20-30% or more for booking early to up to 50% or more for booking late."

According to Yasim there are plenty of ways you can keep an eye out for when cruise lines open bookings or launch deals. Her top tip is to sign up for fare alerts on cruise websites, or subscribe to a cruise line's newsletter. According to the travel pro, this could save you 10-20% off on the original price!

She added: "Join the loyalty programs of your preferred cruise lines. Frequent cruisers can enjoy various perks, including discounts and onboard credit. Savings in the form of onboard credits, discounts, and priority benefits can vary but may be several hundred pounds or more."

Oh, and when you book, keep an eye out for onboard credit deals - these could actually save you hundreds of pounds during your holiday, and often cruise lines will add some onboard credit as an extra incentive to book.

It's not the first time a cruise insider has shared their advice for Brits after bargains. Grace Sandwiith, Commercial Director at Iglu Cruise, previously recommended trying to book as early as possible to get the best pick of perks.

She explained: "It is usually best to book early to be sure of the holiday availability you would like, there are often great deals and early booking incentives when new sailings are launched. If you know exactly what you’d like to book, booking early will ensure availability. Summer holidays are often in great demand which is why it's best to book early for these."
