A 14-year-old girl is being supported by specialist officers from Hampshire Constabulary after police were called to Fordingbridge Recreation Ground, Hampshire, as two boys were charged with rape.

Police have charged two schoolboys with the kidnap and rape of a 14-year-old girl in a park in the New Forest.

Police were called to Fordingbridge Recreation Ground at around 10.40pm last Friday, although the incident is believed to have happened earlier in the evening. Police from Hampshire Constabulary have since charged two 14-year-old boys.

The pair, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were due to appear at Southampton Youth Court this morning. The police force said in a statement: “Officers investigating a report of a serious sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl, which occurred at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground, have now charged two teenage boys.

“A 14-year-old boy from Fordingbridge has been charged with rape, threats to kill, possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place and kidnap / falsely imprison a person with intent to commit a relevant sexual offence. A second 14-year-old boy from Fordingbridge has been charged with rape, threats to kill and kidnap.

“A third boy, a 13-year-old from Romsey, who was also arrested in connection with the incident, has since been released on conditional police bail, pending further enquiries. The girl continues to be supported by specialist officers.”
