Shocking scenes as train passenger 'punches teen in face' after foul mouth rant

Images appear to show a man punch a teenager in the face following on a foul-mouthed rant on a train.

The man dressed in a suit shouts abuse at the younger male who is sitting at a table seat on the train that is said to be at Borough Green, in Kent. Then when the youngster claims he has done nothing, the attacker launches a left handed punch which hits him in the face.

It has now had more than 800,000 views on X with people horrified by the man’s violent reaction. In the clip that looks to have been caught on camera phone the man who is standing in the aisle of the train in a dark suit and white shirt confronts the younger lad. In the clip the man says: “I don’t give a f*** about any of ya” and then “f*** off then.”

There was a muffled exchange where the teen can be heard saying “alright then” and “I’m not the one coming up to you”. The man then shouts: “I’m coming up to you though,” and “you’re the one throwing down here giving it the big one”.

The teen protests his innocence saying “I’ve not done nothing” before the man shouts “f*** you boy” and hits him, sending the boy sideways. After being hit he again says: “I’ve done nothing mate” and the man finishes by saying: “Do not f*** around with me.”

The footage was posted to X - formerly known as Twitter - by an account called London & UK Street News. The video was captioned with the post “happened on a train in borough green Kent last week” and there have also been hundreds of retweets and comments.

Fellow users of the social media platform piled in to express their shock at the attack. “He is an angry man. Get him arrested now,” one said. “Horrible bully,” said a fellow X user. “He’s not doing that to my kid, brother, cousin or friend,” said another. There have been plenty of other comments though saying that we need to hear both sides of the story and know what happened before the clip started.

A spokesman for British Transport Police told The Mirror: “Officers are aware of a video showing an assault on board a train reportedly in the Borough Green area. Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 290 of 18 December 2023.”
