My Mum Your Dad’s Monique denies she’s dating co-star after sharing cosy snap
My Mum Your Dad’s Monique has been forced to deny she’s dating co-star Clayton after her love triangle drama.
Single mum and therapist Monique, 50, won over viewers of the ITV dating show when she broke down after opening up about her turbulent love life, and she hit it off with Martin M. But their relationship was almost doomed when he started falling for Tollulah, and eventually ended up with Monique, leaving her daughter Taiya questioning his motives. Despite drama in the house, the single mum has enjoyed life after the dating show, and she surprised her followers on social media when she posted a snap of herself and co-star Clayton.
Monique looked stunning as she posed next to Clayton, and the pair had their arms round each other's waists. “@claytonbyfield, you are another rib in my cage!”, she cryptically captioned the photo, prompting her fans to go wild in the comments.
“You look great together!”, one wrote as another added: “Omg are you two together??” A third chimed in: “I said in episode 1 Clayton & Caroline should have been sent on a date - two absolutely gorgeous souls. I hope they get together.”
After many others shared the same sentiment, Monique was forced to clear things up.
All you need to know about new 'Midlife Love Island' - from villa to stars“Aww, we are not together but he is the absolute best hooman!” she sweetly replied. Her fans weren’t put off by her denial, and encouraged the couple to go on a date.
“You'd make the most beautiful couple,” one commented. “He says he’s single. But this would be a great match!” another added. “These 2 would be a great match!” one fan agreed, as one tried to play matchmaker: “Seems to be a fit?!”
During the show, Monique was involved in a love triangle with Martin H and Martin M – neither romances were meant to be, and she parted ways with both potential matches.
Taiya quizzed Martin M over her intentions towards her mum, after he admitted he was interested in Tollulah while still with Monique.
“I just wanted to make sure it came from a genuine place, you know? And it wasn't just because you were physically attracted to my mum,” she explained. Martin admitted he was “physically attracted” to Monique, but insisted his feelings for Taiya’s mum were genuine.
“That one chat where you bond and see what's happening... And then me and your mum had a conversation and we just clicked within five minutes. It all kinda fell into place and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't physically attracted to her because I am as that's very important to me, too,” he confessed.
