Sophie Turner supported by comedian Kathy Griffin amid Joe Jonas custody battle
Comedian Kathy Griffin has publicly supported Sophie Turner amid her divorce from her estranged husband Joe Jonas.
The Jonas Brothers singer, 34, filed for divorce from 27-year-old Sophie on September 1 as he said their marriage is "irretrievably broken". The actress then sued Joe for allegedly "wrongfully retaining" their children after he took them travelling on a holiday.
Now, Sophie has been supported by Kathy as the 62-year-old took to Instagram to share a throwback video from her stand-up routine in 2009. In the video, Kathy hit out at Joe for breaking up with superstar Taylor Swift.
Captioning the clip, she wrote: "Well, well, well… What else is there to say? The House Griffin knows no queen but the queen in the north, whose name is Stark. #TeamSophie." She also wrote over the top of the video: "All I can say is this is from 2009, and I was right."

She continued to say the singer is "adorable" and described her as a "beautiful Seventeen cover model".

"Did you know she had been banging one of the Jonas Brothers who dumped her," Kathy added, with the audience gasping in surprise. She continued: "I know! Where the f**k does he get off dumping beautiful Taylor Swift?"
Taylor briefly dated Joe from July 2008 until their split in October of that year. Recently, she's been spotted spending time with Sophie in New York as the two stars have been going out for dinner and drinks.

According to court documents, the "wrongful retention" of the children began on September 20. Sophie is requesting the "immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained".
She insists that the now separated family had previously intended to make England their "forever home" prior to the divorce. If approved by a judge, it would order Joe to turn over the children's custody to Sophie. While Sophie did not directly accuse Joe of abducting the children, the petition does reference the word "abducted" periodically as part of the legal jargon.
A representative for Joe has instead claimed there is an order in place to prevent either parent from relocating the children. In a statement Joe's representative told The Mirror: "The Florida court has already entered an order that restricts both parents from relocating the children. Sophie was served with this order on September 6, 2023, more than two weeks ago."
