Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was given a parking ticket just hours before his team face Oregon in a crucial Pac-12 clash.

Sanders is considered one of the best athletes in sports history after sensationally starring in both the NFL and MLB during his playing days. He is now thriving as a college football coach; in his first full season, Sanders led HBCU outfit Jackson State to the Southwestern Athletic Conference title with an 11-2 record before securing a move to Colorado ahead of the 2023 season.

He was brought to Colorado to turn the Buffaloes around, as the team has won double-digit games just once since 2002 and its 1-11 record in 2022 was its worst since 2012. Now, the No. 22 Buffaloes are 3-0 after defeating last year’s National Championship runner-up TCU 45-42 on the road to open the season.

Sanders has captivated the college football world in the 2023 season, with the Pro Football Hall of Famer guiding Colorado to a 3-0 record after defeating TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State. Despite his success placing the Buffaloes at the epicentre of the sport, Sanders is clearly not exempt from receiving fines for parking violations.

His oldest son, Deion Sanders Jr., posted a clip on social media showing a parking ticket under one of the wiper blades of a white Lamborghini. Sanders Jr. can be heard saying: “Lamborghini Prime. I love to see it.

“They even gave him a ticket. They even gave my dad a ticket. Yeah, boys - crazy.”

It is unclear why the Lamborghini received the ticket. The exact amount of the fine has also not been yet revealed.

On top of his parking violation, coach Sanders’ preparation for the Oregon game was also disrupted by an unexpected encounter with a rodent in his office in Boulder. In a video, the 56-year-old said: “We called it a rat, but it wasn’t big enough to be a rat, but it was a mouse.

“I’m scared, I can’t do this, I can’t live like this. I’m in Boulder, Colorado - I cannot live like this. So, help is going to be on the way today. One of us has got to go.”

Heading into the clash with Oregon on Saturday night, the Buffaloes are severe underdogs. The Ducks are led by star quarterback Bo Nix - set to be a top quarterback prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft - who will go toe-to-toe with Heisman Trophy candidate Shedeur Sanders.

The Colorado quarterback has thrown for 1,251 yards and 10 touchdowns over the first three games of the season, but he will be missing his top target. Two-way superstar Travis Hunter is set to miss the game with a lacerated liver sustained by a late hit in the win over Colorado State last weekend.

Colorado could climb into the top 15 in the next AP poll depending on other results. Colorado face USC - and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams - next week after their clash with Oregon.
