Deion Sanders has shared footage of his foot after having two toes amputated - avoiding losing his foot completely after having blood flow issues in his left leg.

The Hall of Fame defensive back turned college head coach has continued to allow a camera crew to record a number of appointments with doctors as he continues to undergo procedures, set to go under the knife again this week.

Just last month, vascular surgeon Donald Jacobs told him: "You just have to understand what the risks are. Things can cascade. [Sanders] could lose the foot.”

Sanders is undergoing treatment at the University of Colorado facility – where he is the head coach – and he was given the news that they may have to amputate his foot if the problems continue to progress.

And this week, he showed his foot for the first time, having two toes amputated, but thankfully avoiding losing his foot completely.

Sanders will continue to undergo procedures, including having a foot dislocation and straightening his remaining toes out so he feels less pain.

Foot issues have plagued "Prime Time" since his retirement from the NFL, missing three games of the 2021 season when he was in charge at Jackson State due to complications from surgery.

This off-season, Sanders chose to leave JSU to join one of the bigger Division One teams in the Pac-12, the Colorado Buffaloes.

And with the college football season now just over a month away, Sanders has assured his team and fans that he will be there for game one and he won't be even slightly hampered.

He said: "I promise you when we go to TCU, I'm running out in front of our team, I promise you that."

A number of players have already transferred with him to Colorado from Jackson State, including his son, star quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Colorado have already letting go of 40 players ahead of the 2023 season, as well as signing star wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter - a former number one High School recruit who is seen as a future first-rounder in the NFL.

Shedeur could be in line to be a first-round pick in the 2024 draft class if he continues to improve from his previous two seasons, having thrown 70 touchdowns to just 14 interceptions in that time - while also impressing in the off-season spring game.
