UFC heavyweight 'was victim of £130,000 burglary' as he landed huge KO

UFC heavyweight Ciryl Gane was victim to a burglary worth almost £130,000 while he was winning his return to the octagon in Paris on Saturday night.
The fighter hadn't competed since losing his second effort at the world title to Jon Jones in March, but stunned in an impressive knockout win over Sergey Spivak. But while he was appreciating the adulation of a packed out Accor Arena faithful that were called one of the greatest crowds in the world, his home was being robbed.
French outlet Le Parisien report that the 33-year-old's home in Nogent-sur-Marne was targeted, with police called to the location at 7:30am on Sunday morning local time. It is believed that the criminals forced their way in through the front door and stole a Rolex as well as some other jewellery, with losses estimated at around €150,000, or around £128,000.
No arrests have yet to be made in the case, with Le Parisien reporting that Nogent-sur-Marne police station were initially in charge of looking into the burglary. It was eventually taken over by the anti-burglary unit of the Val-de-Marne territorial security, who examined the scene for evidence.
Gane had admitted that he entered into his octagon comeback "afraid" given the pressures of the event and his last outing. The win marks the start of his third run for gold at heavyweight, with his two defeats in the sport coming against Francis Ngannou in January of 2020 and Jones, both of which were for the belt.

“I’m not going to lie: I’ve got the pressure, and I want to do well,” Gane told the media at a post-fight press conference. “This is not a game of basketball or soccer. That’s different. Just that, you have some emotion that’s really different - a little bit afraid, a little bit pressured. You want to do well.
"My mission was to shine tonight because I want to go back to the belt, this is my race, and I want to do that. This is a new era for the heavyweight division, and you have some big movement, We were waiting for a big title fight with two GOATs.
"Maybe they’re going to retire. So for me, a good way is to go back. It was my mission tonight to shine and prove I’m still here, and I want to go back to the belt. We will see. We will see for the moment.”
