Gary Neville has launched another scathing attack on the "toxic" Glazer family amid reports they will NOT be selling Manchester United.

It was November 22 when the US owners announced their intention to sell up at Old Trafford, prompting a bidding war between Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe. And after a prolonged saga, it was widely reported last month that Sheikh Jassim had emerged as the preferred choice, and was set to seize control amid a £6billion sale.

That speculation proved premature, with United manager Erik ten Hag hampered throughout the summer transfer window by FFP regulations following an apparent lack of investment from the Glazers. And then on the eve of a crunch clash at Arsenal, news broke that negotiations for a sale were reportedly off, with the owners instead holding out for a £10billion fee.

Former club legend Neville has been a vociferous critic of the Americans, and publicly took aim at them after United's bid to join the failed European Super League. And on Sunday morning he responded to developments with another blunt assessment.

"I don’t believe the Glazers not selling/doing anything story," he tweeted on X. "They have to do something. They’ve run out of money and the financial situation is desperate. They need investment in."

Fans have long protested against the ownership, and this summer held a demonstration outside the club shop on the day new kits were released, forcing officials to close the doors. And Neville also touched on the negative impact the saga was having on the club.

"They’re also having a toxic impact on the club from the inside out," he added. "The negligence continues for now but I don’t think it can go on without some action on raising funds. Also who would come in as a minority alongside them with the damage it would do to their reputation?"

Neville's anger has been mirrored by United fans online, with many urging those in the away end at the Emirates to stage some form of protest. But the Glazers have already been the subject of numerous demonstrations from club supporters, and have seemingly been unaffected by the criticism.

And the discontent will be exacerbated if United are beaten at Arsenal. Despite taking six points from none so far, the Red Devils recorded unconvincing wins over Wolves and Nottingham Forest, already prompting widespread doubts over their title credentials.
