England captain Harry Kane was urged by his fellow former Tottenham striker Jurgen Klinsmann to show Bayern Munich fans he's willing to embrace Bavarian customs, and new photos show the 30-year-old has done just that.

Kane joined Bayern from Spurs in a big-money deal on the eve of the Premier League season, and has scored three goals in his first three appearances for the Bundesliga champions. Now, to top it all off, he has been snapped wearing lederhosen and chugging lager - just like Klinsmann recommended.

Former Germany manager Klinsmann made the same move during his own playing career, joining Bayern from Spurs in 1995. He was popular enough in London to earn a second Spurs stint, though, before an ill-fated season as Bayern's manager in the 2008-09 season.

“I can’t describe how people will freak out if he embraces their way of life, and picks up even just a few words of our language," Klinsmann told Mirror Football. "Just saying ‘Hello’ or ‘Thank you’ or ‘Nice to see you’ in German will have a huge impact, as it shows respect.

“The fans like their heroes to be humble. They will not care what car Harry drives or what kind of house he lives in if he shows that deep down he is just a normal lad.

“He made a great start when he presented his family to the Bayern fans and said, ‘I have come here to score goals and my family have come here to experience what it’s like to live in Germany’.

“But it would be great to see him dive right into Bavarian culture by grabbing himself a pair of lederhosen to wear for Oktoberfest, then going out for a few beers and some delicious German white sausage – all preferably before noon."

Kane drew a blank on his debut, with Bayern losing the DFB Supercup to RB Leipzig on the day his arrival was announced. However, he quickly went about opening his account once the Bundesliga season got underway.

First up was a 4-0 win at Werder Bremen, with Kane getting one of the four goals. He then netted twice against Augsburg to help Bayern continue their perfect start to the season.

"It was a good win in the first home match of the season," Kane said after the Augsburg game. "We created good chances and could've scored even more.

"There's still room for improvement in the final third of the pitch for us. Overall, it was a good performance from us.

"We have great quality in the team. I love the chemistry in the team, we're growing together more and more. It's been a crazy and exciting few weeks for me. It's all positive."
