Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso's turbulent life after Disney fame

Former Disney star, Mitchel Musso, who is famous for his role in the Hannah Montana series, starring alongside Miley Cyrus, has been arrested after reports of a disturbance.

The actor, 32, was arrested on August 26 after reportedly acting hostile after he was asked to pay for some food he had already started eating at a hotel. Becoming angry when he was asked to pay for a bag of crisps he had taken without paying for, Mitchel is said to have stormed out of the hotel, with a press release from a police department in Texas stating he "became verbally abusive".

Arrested for drunkenness and theft, the police arrived outside the hotel and cuffed the actor, with him then taken into police custody in Rockwall, a suburb of Dallas, Texas. Reports say that he faces charges of "public intoxication, theft (under $100), expired registration, failure to display a driver's license, and violating a promise to appear notice." The actor was then released on a $1,000 bond.

But this isn't the Hannah Montana star's first brush with the law, because back in 2011 he ended up losing two of his jobs after he was pulled over while driving on suspicion of driving under the influence. On October 17, 2011, the actor was reported to have been approached by cops, who discovered that he smelled like alcohol while behind the wheel.

Giving the star a breathalyser test, the then-20-year-old was under the legal drinking age in America, with his blood alcohol content allegedly above the legal limit. Mitchel's bail was said to be set at $5,000 (£3,900) at the time. E! Online reports that he pleaded no contest to one count of having a blood alcohol level of over 0.08. After the ordeal, Mitchel spoke out about being arrested, with him admitting he was "becoming an adult" and "taking responsibility" for what he had done.

Speaking to E! Online, the actor said: "In becoming an adult, I have learned first hand that stepping up and taking responsibility is the best way to move forward. I am especially thankful to my family and fans for their unwavering support and encouragement. I am glad to now put this in the past."

After his first run-in with the law, Mitchel's character was written out of American sitcom Pair of Kings. The actor played the role of King Brady in seasons one and two, but when he was axed from the show, his character moved back to Chicago in season three. His show PrankStars was then axed after six episodes because of his arrest.

Mitchel is best-known for having played the role of Miley Stewart's best friend in the hit Disney series Hannah Montana. Starring in the series in the late 2000s, Mitchel played the role of Oliver Oken who was a main character in the first three seasons of the drama. As well as being Miley Stewart's best pal, he was also Lilly Truscott's boyfriend.

Aside from his legal woes and Disney axe, Mitchel has had a career in the music industry. He performed many times throughout his Disney career in the early noughties, but then took a hiatus after the early 2010s. Making a comeback almost one year ago back in September 2022, Mitchel released a single, which was called DRANK. He then released a mixtape last October.
