Is it finally the end of Manchester United's takeover saga?

Wednesday saw the sensational claim that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani had indeed WON the race to buy the club, beating British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe thanks to a £6billion bid after their nine-month battle. The Qatari banker was reported to be planning his next moves but it appears that things aren't so sewn up.

Elsewhere, the fallout from Mason Greenwood's exit continues, with the club facing heavy criticism for their handling of the affair after announcing that he'd be leaving Old Trafford. As Greenwood searches for a new club, United manager Erik ten Hag continues to pursue transfer targets such as Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch, but time is running out for the Red Devils, who've also just lost Mason Mount to a serious injury which is set to impact their transfer plans.

Stay tuned for the latest updates from Old Trafford throughout Thursday..

Altay Bayindir 'waves goodbye' before Man Utd transfer

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has been seen 'waving goodbye' to Fenerbahce fans this evening, with the stopper tipped to complete a move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old is expected to make a move to the Premier League, where he would act as Andre Onana's No.2 at Old Trafford.

Bayindir, who has five Turkey caps, has been Fenerbahce's No.1 for the past four seasons, but he was named on the bench for Thursday's Europa Conference League tie against Twente.

Man Utd one step closer to signing

Altay Bayinder is one step closer to joining Manchester United as Fenerbahce will sign Dominik Livakovic as his replacement.

Turkish goalkeeper Bayinder has completed a medical ahead of joining United but several other moves need to fall into place before the transfer is processed. Fener have already provisionally agreed a sale with United for a minimal fee but will not sanction the move until a replacement arrives.

Livakovic has starred at international level for Croatia and is now set to join the Turkish giants from Dinamo Zagreb. Furthermore, United must complete the exit of Dean Henderson – who is wanted by Crystal Palace – before finalising the arrival of Bayinder.

McKenna on Williams

Kieran McKenna has revealed why he decided to bring Brandon Williams to Ipswich on loan from Manchester United.

"He's someone I've known since a very young age," said McKenna. "I've seen his journey and how hard he's worked to get to where he's got to.

"He's still very young and has a large amount of experience for a 22-year-old, but is coming off a season where he hasn't played many minutes and has had some bad luck with injuries."

Greenwood to Jamaica?

Mason Greenwood could still play at international level for Jamaica - if the forward can get his career back on track.

Jamaica are reportedly still interested in capping Greenwood. The FA worked hard to persuade the player to remain part of the England set up when Jamaica's interest first appeared in 2021, but he has only been capped once..

According to FIFA's rules, players are allowed to switch their international allegiance if they have played no more than three competitive games before the age of 21.

United prepare bid for Brazilian wonderkid

Manchester United are preparing a bid for Santos wonderkid Marcos Leonardo, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Red Devils are still open to signing another striker before the transfer window closes and the 20-year-old Brazilian has emerged on their radar.

Leonardo had been set to join Jose Mourinho's Roma earlier this summer before Santos pulled the plug on the move.

The offer is expected to be worth €20million (£21.4m) plus €5m (£4m) in add-ons.

DONE DEAL: Emeran departure confirmed

Manchester United have confirmed that French forward Noam Emeran, 20, will join Dutch side Groningen.

The Red Devils say that the fee is "undisclosed," although reports claim it's worth less than £1million but includes a sell-on clause.

DONE DEAL: Ipswich confirm Williams loan

Ipswich Town have confirmed the signing of Manchester United defender Brandon Williams on a season-long loan.

The Mancunian full-back, 22, will reunite with former United coach Kieran McKenna, who manages the Blues in the Championship.

Williams spent the 2021-22 season with Ipswich's rivals, Norwich.

Emeran confirms departure

Manchester United youngster Noam Emeran has confirmed that he's leaving the club.

The Frenchman, 20, joined United four years ago but will now sign for Dutch club Groningen in a deal worth less than £1million which includes a sell-on clause.

In a message to supporters on social media, Emeran wrote: Dear United fans, it is not easy to leave such an incredible club but the time is right and the next opportunity is perfect. I'll be forever grateful to everyone who has helped me since I arrived here in a new country at just sixteen years old.

"With the support of some amazing people I've experienced unbelievable highs, made friends for life, created unforgettable memories and overcome some difficult moments that have only made me stronger and more resilient.

"I want to achieve a lot in my career and feel ready to play senior football every week. I'm excited for the future knowing what awaits me has also been built on the foundations of my development at Manchester United. All glory to God."

Mejbri future still unclear

Manchester United still haven't made a decision on whether or not to keep Hannibal Mejbri at the club beyond transfer deadline day.

The Tunisia international, 20, could be included in the Red Devils' squad when they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

According to the MEN, Borussia Dortmund registered their interest in Mejbri earlier this summer before he enjoyed an encouraging pre-season.

The midfielder, who Erik ten Hag likes, spent last season on loan in the Championship with Birmingham.

FULL STORY: Evans set for permanent stay

Manchester United are set to offer Jonny Evans a one-year contract at the club in a move that casts further doubt on the future of Harry Maguire.

The Northern Ireland international defender - a United youth graduate who was sold by the club eight years ago by Louis van Gaal – impressed boss Erik ten Hag during pre-season training before signing a short-term deal at Old Trafford.

Evans, 35, is valued by Ten Hag due to the experience he offers and ticks many boxes for what United wanted – a low-maintenance player who will not kick up a fuss over a reduced role, without compromising United’s budget on other targets while also being comfortable in playing out from the back.

Pellistri lifts lid on Ten Hag training sessions

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri has compared Erik ten Hag's training sessions to "being at Harvard".

The Ivy League university is one of the most prestigious in the world and Pellistri believes Harvard is similar to United as you are surrounded by "the best of the best" which allows young players to "improve a lot".

The 21-year-old signed for United in 2020 but has found first-team opportunities limited, making just 12 senior appearances in all competitions. He has enjoyed two separate loan stints at Spanish club Deportivo Alaves and impressed Ten Hag in pre-season.

FULL STORY: Amrabat facing Fiorentina exile

Sofyan Amrabat is training alone at Fiorentina as the midfielder continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.

The Morocco international is subject of interest from Manchester United, while Liverpool have pulled out of a deal to sign Amrabat this summer. United need to sell players to raise funds first, although time is running out before the transfer window slams shut next Friday.

West Ham had been in the conversation earlier this summer but David Moyes has since decided to bring in Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse instead. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian clubs had also been tracking Amrabat but the 27-year-old rejected the opportunity to move to the Middle-East.

Evans close to one-year contract

Jonny Evans is close to agreeing a one-year contract with Manchester United after spending pre-season with the Red Devils.

In July, Erik ten Hag brought the Northern Irish centre-back back to Old Trafford on a short-term deal, having been released by Leicester.

Evans, 35, is now set to be handed a permanent stay, eight years since he left United to join West Brom following more than a decade in the club's academy and first-team.

As reported by the Telegraph, his stay after impressing Ten Hag in training raises doubts over the future of Harry Maguire, despite his £30million move to West Ham recently collapsing.

Glazers accused of 'holding club hostage'

It is now nine months since the Glazer family officially put Manchester United up for sale and a final decision over who will own the club has still not yet been made.

Despite reports claiming Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim was expecting to finalise a purchase by October, it is understood the Glazers have not yet made a decision about United's future much to the dismay of supporters.

Sheikh Jassim and INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two frontrunners to buy the club and neither party has received definitive responses from Raine Group, the bank overseeing the potential sale on behalf of the Glazers.

Ten Hag has secret weapon in Todibo pursuit

Erik ten Hag's hopes of luring Jean-Clair Todibo to Manchester United before next week's transfer deadline could be boosted by Raphael Varane.

The Dutchman has strengthened the spine of his team after completing deals for Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund but is keen to bring in more new faces before the summer transfer window officially closes next Friday.

While United are understood to be in the market for another central midfielder to sit alongside Casemiro, it is also believed that Ten Hag would like to sign another central defender. And with Benjamin Pavard closing in on a transfer to Inter Milan, Todibo has now emerged as Ten Hag's primary defensive target.

Raine attempting to resolve takeover issue

US merchant bank Raine are attempting to bridge the gap between the Glazers' £6billion valuation of Manchester United and the bids which they've recieved, according to The Mail.

It's been nearly three months since Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani submitted his 'fifth and final' bid to rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe's offer, both of which fell short of £6bn.

Henderson asking price set

Manchester United want £20million to sell goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils have lined up Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce to replace Henderson, who's keen on a permanent exit.

Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest are both vying for the 26-year-old's signature.

Bruce: 'Ten Hag has helped make Maguire scapegoat'

Manchester United hero Steve Bruce feels that Erik ten Hag has played a key role in Harry Maguire becoming a "scapegoat."

Maguire, 30, was recently stripped of the captaincy and saw a £30million transfer to West Ham fall through, and now looks set to stay at Old Trafford.

Speaking to William Hill, three-time Premier League and FA Cup winner Bruce said: "Erik ten Hag has laid down a marker with Harry Maguire, as it's always a tough call when you take the captain's armband off someone.

"Let's be brutally honest about this, he is still an England centre-half. I think Harry is a little bit unfortunate and has been made out to be a little bit of a scapegoat. He's been easy to pick on."

Casemiro gets surprise backing after Carragher blast

Danny Murphy has backed under-fire Manchester United star Casemiro to get back to his best this season, despite criticism from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

Carragher has branded Casemiro a "panic buy" and warned he is "going to get really exposed" this season. The Brazilian has struggled in United's first two games of the season and was previously the target of criticism from Graeme Souness, who repeatedly claimed Casemiro was simply a "steady Eddie".

However, Murphy has defended the 31-year-old, highlighting his performances over the last decade and suggesting he still has at least two years left at the highest level.

FULL STORY: Pellistri set for departure

Manchester United are ready to allow Facundo Pellistri to join Premier League newcomers Sheffield United on a season-long loan.

Pellistri, 21, is a full Uruguay international but is yet to establish himself as a first-team regular at Old Trafford, where he has made just 12 senior appearances since being signed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in 2020.

The winger, who was handed his United bow during the League Cup win over Charlton last season, has featured in both of Manchester United's league fixtures so far this term as a substitute but is still expected to continue his development away from the club.

Van de Beek latest

Donny van de Beek remains a Manchester United player.

Real Sociedad had been in talks with the Red Devils over a loan move, but rumours have gone quiet in the last week.

The Dutch midfielder, 26, still has two years left on his contract but doesn't appear to be in favour under Erik ten Hag.

Fernandes appears to fire back

Bruno Fernandes has seemingly hit back at his critics on social media after the Manchester United captain's behaviour was branded "pathetic" by Micah Richards.

Fernandes, 28, was handed the club captaincy on a permanent basis by Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman stripped Harry Maguire of the armband during the summer break, but the decision was questioned by several pundits who have criticised Fernandes' body language in the past.

The Portuguese midfielder has cut a frustrated figure during Manchester United's opening Premier League fixtures - and Richards directly hit out at Fernandes' antics following last weekend's chastening 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Academy star to stay put

Manchester United academy star Dan Gore isn't expected to be loaned out before the transfer window closes.

The talented midfielder, 18, travelled with United's first-team squad during their pre-season tour this summer.

Clubs in England are interested in taking Gore on loan but he's set to remain at Old Trafford, according to the MEN.

Mount injury likely to impact two transfers

Mason Mount's six-week injury lay-off could save Scott McTominay's Manchester United career - and force the Red Devils to sign Sofyan Amrabat.

United confirmed on Wednesday that Mount would miss their upcoming Premier League clashes with Nottingham Forest and Arsenal prior to the international break, before it was reported that he could be out until October. A hamstring issue has stunted the former Chelsea midfielder's start to life at Old Trafford and is expected to alter manager Erik ten Hag's transfer plans.

With Mount, 24, at risk of missing eight fixtures thanks to his injury, Ten Hag will have slim pickings in midfield after selling Fred to Fenerbahce earlier this month. Following a bid from West Ham and interest from Newcastle, McTominay looked set to follow Fred out of the exit door but the Scotland international's chances of remaining with the Red Devils have now received a boost.

ICYMI: Amrabat training alone

Fiorentina have ordered Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat to train alone amid the uncertainty surrounding his future.

The Moroccan midfielder, 27, won't feature in Fiorentina's Europa Conference League qualifying game away to Rapid Wien tonight.

It's believed that the Serie A side would be willing to accept around £21million to sell Amrabat but have told him to make a decision on his future within the next 48 hours.

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Italiano confirmed: "Amrabat is training on his own, he won't travel with us for next game."

Pellistri in talks with Sheff Utd

Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri is in talks to join newly-promoted Premier League side Sheffield United on loan.

The MEN report that the Blades are targeting Pellistri, 21, with the view to having him for the remainder of the season.

The Uruguay interview is liked by Erik ten Hag and the Red Devils want to hand him a new long-term contract.

Two clubs want youngster on loan

Granada and Burnley are both keen on a deal to sign Manchester United defender Alvaro Fernandez before the end of the transfer window.

Fernandez spent last season on loan at Preston in the Championship and returned to Old Trafford this summer, featuring in pre-season training for United. The 20-year-old had been likely to go out on loan once again this season after boss Erik ten Hag took a closer look at the Spaniard to evaluate his progress.

United are aware that the Spaniard’s progression path will hasten with regular first-team football and are willing to sanction his exit this summer, with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia occupying the left-back slot – while Brandon Williams is in talks over a move to Ipswich.

ICYMI: Todibo 'expected' to join United

Nice expect Manchester United to sign defender Jean-Clair Todibo before the transfer window closes next Friday, according to L'Equipe. The Red Devils are linked with a move for the French centre-back, 23, in the event of Harry Maguire leaving.

Speculation cooled last week after Maguire's £30million switch to West Ham collaposed, but Nice aren't willing to bet on Todibo staying put. United's other centre-back target, Benjamin Pavard, is set to join Inter Milan.

Sheikh Jassim awaits Glazer response

Contrary to a report from The Sun, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani seemingly hasn't yet won the race to buy Manchester United is still waiting for the Glazers to provide an update on his latest takeover bid.

It was claimed yesterday that Sheikh Jassim had beaten long-running rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe after striking a £6billion deal, but multiple reports elsewhere state that both parties are still in the running.

The Glazer siblings remain undecided over selling Manchester United nine months after putting the club on the market.

There's no suggestion that a decision is imminent.
