Tipping Point’s Ben Shephard left disappointed as 'stunning' player makes obvious mistake

Tipping Point host Ben Shephard was left in disbelief as one contestant got her very first question wrong on the ITV daytime game show.

Hopeful contestant Emily joined her fellow players Sharon, Sam and Peter in their attempt to win big on the ITV gameshow using counters to unlock money and prizes. Yet her hopes were nearly dashed when Emily, who had been branded "stunning" by one ITV viewer, failed to get her first question right on the ITV show, leaving GMB presenter Ben in shock that she missed out on a seemingly obvious answer.

Emily's question asked by Ben was, "In the 2018 musical film, a character played by Emily Blunt who performs the songs ‘Can you imagine that?’ and ‘Turning turtle’ is which magical nanny?"

Without missing a beat, Emily buzzed in and confidently answered: "Nanny McPhee", only to discover it was the wrong answer. A disappointed Ben winced as he responded: "Oh no, Emily! Mary Poppins, what are you thinking?!"

A flustered Emily realised her mistake as she replied: "Oh gosh! Oh no, the pressure." Despite the blunder at the start of her time on the ITV gameshow, it didn't stop her chances with Emily successfully making it all the way to the final after seeing fellow contestant Sharon and then Peter knocked out before she faced Sam in the final round.

However, it seemed Emily's luck had run out as Sam stormed ahead, banking £2,000 while she only made £1,700 and was knocked out from the game show. Viewers then watched as Sam tried his best to win the whopping prize of £10,000, but instead, he failed to push the jackpot counter off the shelf and walked away with the £4,150 he had won during the show.

In other news from the popular ITV gameshow, a former contestant who was cruelly weight shamed whilst on the programme has gone on to lose half her body weight.

Cruel trolls sent Erika, from Swansea, Wales, messages after she appeared on the ITV show earlier this year. But she decided to use their terrible words to inspire her and she's now dropped "almost half her body weight" and shared pictures of her new slimmer physique online.

Taking to Instagram, she told her friends and family about why she did it. Alongside the picture of her new physique, she explained: "So after seeing myself on #tippingpoint and being fat-shamed on here I changed my life and lost almost half my body weight! Thanks everyone for the motivation!"

Ben Shephard hosts the quiz show as the 48-year-old presenter oversees events, with the guests all vying for the £10,000 prize.
