Corrie star's famous husband returns to Emmerdale after 24 years as new villain

Emmerdale will see a familiar face on the ITV soap in upcoming episodes. New villain Harry leads one resident astray - but he's bound to be recognisable to many viewers.

The actor playing the new character has actually been on the show before more than 20 years ago, as well as starring in some huge shows. He actually played a major character on the soap in the 90s for more than 70 episodes.

He's also married to a fellow soap actor. Harry will be played by TV star Robert Beck, and there's possible danger ahead for at least one existing character when he debuts.

Robert has starred in other shows and soaps including Hollyoaks, Casualty and The Bay. He's been married to Coronation Street star Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, since 2005.

Now, he's returning to the Dales in a new role it seems, Harry, more than 20 years after his previous stint. Robert played Bernice Blackstock's love interest Gavin Ferris in 1999 for 78 episodes.

Viewers who watched the show back then may recall he was quite the womaniser, but in a twist the character was caught kissing Jason Kirk amid his engagement to Bernice.

Now, Robert is returning to the soap in a different, darker role. Harry will debut on the show next week as part of a new storyline involving Nate Robinson, Caleb Miligan and newcomer Corey.

Following Nate convincing his uncle Caleb to give him a job with newcomer Corey, in scenes to air this week, things take a turn. Corey is an old friend of Nate's from school, and amid Nate's financial woes he's given a secret offer next week.

Corey promises there are ways to make extra cash on the side, and soon a client named Harry arrives - and he's impressed by Nate. Nate returns with a big tip and is happy to confirm to Corey that Caleb doesn’t have to know, as Corey asks him to keep it from his investor.

But Caleb suspects Corey is up to no good and asks Nate to be his eyes and ears in the business. After a bit of probing Nate soon discovers Corey’s deal with Harry isn’t completely legitimate.

He agrees to hide this from Caleb though for the extra cash. Hopeful for a pay rise, Nate lies to Caleb how Corey isn’t doing anything untoward, covering for Corey.

Nate soon confesses to Corey that Caleb is suspicious, and he uses this fear to try and get out of a dodgy job with Harry. But Corey threatens getting on the wrong side of Harry would be even worse for them. Can Nate get out of the dodgy deals, or will he be led down a dark path?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
