Cheryl's 'fresh heartbreak' over Ashley Cole years after their marriage ended
Cheryl Tweedy has had old emotions stirred up as ‘love of her life’ Ashley Cole prepares to marry someone new.
The 40-year-old pop singer was married to 42-year-old football coach and former player Ashley from 2006 until 2010 - and their marriage was filled with plenty of drama.
And despite their marriage being dogged by affair rumours, it seems Cheryl’s heart might still pine for her former husband, who is set to swap vows with 30-year-old Italian model Sharon Canu - with whom he shares two children - before the end of the month.
With news of the upcoming wedding making headlines, Chezza is said to be casting her mind back to her happy days with Ashley.

The source went on to explain that the wedding between Ashley and Sharon will be much more low-key compared to the lavish nuptials between the sportsman and the pop star.
They said: “Ashley’s gone the opposite way with a low-key wedding with Sharon. He’s moved on and wants the opposite of what he had with Cheryl.”
Cheryl and Ashley were married back in 2006 in a lavish ceremony held in Barnet, North London, that secured the couple a reported £1 million with OK! which saw their wedding snaps splashed across the iconic magazine.

But just two years later, the marriage crumbled amidst further accusations that Ashley had been unfaithful - with Chezza filing for divorce and citing ‘unreasonable behaviour’.
Cheryl went on to marry French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in 2014 - after dating the 42-year-old for just three months.
But that marriage too was not to last and the pair were divorced in 2016.
Cheryl then embarked on a high profile romance with 29-year-old Liam Payne and together they welcomed a son named Bear in March 2017.
However, her romance with Liam - which collapsed in July 2018 - was apparently nothing in comparison to the burning passions of her marriage to Ashley.
OK!’s source claims: “She doesn’t have any romantic feelings for him – she doesn’t have that lasting love with him that she has for Ashley.”
While Cheryl has seemingly not had a relationship since she split with Liam, she said in 2021 that she was enjoying having time to herself.

She told Glamour at the time: “I am learning that I can be absolutely fine without anybody, just me by myself.
"I'm learning to be happy just with me. I'm learning to turn to myself for advice. It's all in the process.”
