UFC boss Dana White denies Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg is "gimmick fight"
UFC boss Dana White has fired back at fans who have labelled Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg a "gimmick fight".
A fantasy fight between Musk and Zuckerberg is now seemingly a possibility after the pair agreed to a cage fight last week. Musk initially proposed the idea online and Zuckerberg was quick to welcome the offer, which led to White spending 90 minutes on the phone with the tech bosses to discuss the fight.
Fans were quick to point out recent comments made by White in which he shut down "gimmick fights" taking place in the UFC. The UFC boss insisted he used the term "gimmick" for crossover fights between boxers and MMA fighters, as he told one fan: "This isn't a gimmick fight. Gimmick is MMA guys going to boxing and getting beat.

"We have seen it already and know how it ends. This is a fight between two of the most powerful richest guys in the world. 'Who will win? Who has seen this before? Nobody." White replied to another fan: "I love doing massive fights that everyone wanna see. This is the biggest one of all time. Fun s**t."
Logan Paul and KSI announce new partnership with UFC president Dana WhiteZuckerberg would have a big experience advantage over Musk if the pair did fight, as the Meta co-founder has been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu for the past few years and even took home two medals in a recent competition. Musk, who is considerably taller and heavier than Zuckerberg, admitted that he rarely exercises but was involved in his fair share of fights whilst growing up in South Africa.
White predicted that Musk vs Zuckerberg would shatter the UFC pay-per-view record, as he told TMZ Sports: "Both guys are absolutely dead serious about this. This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that's ever been done, it would break all pay-per-view records, these guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity."
“You don't have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight, everybody would want to see it. Listen, if these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see, that's what I do for a living. If they really want to do it and they're serious and we can figure out a way to pull this off, I would absolutely, positively do this."
