Woman's head found in Emily in Paris park after husband reported her missing
A woman whose decapitated head was found in a Paris park had been reported missing by her husband earlier this month, it emerged today.
Details of the 46-year-old's horrifying fate were revealed by prosecutors in the French capital on Wednesday.
It follows a murder enquiry being opened after her body parts were found at the Buttes-Chaumont, which is a popular location for TV series' - including Emily in Paris.
"Fingerprint analysis had identified the woman, who is married and of North African origin," said an investigating source.
They continued: "She lived locally with her husband, who reported her missing earlier in February. He is being interviewed at length."

Parts of the 62-acre park remained closed on Wednesday after the discovery of at least two bags which contained flesh and bones.
The Buttes-Chaumont Park, one of the biggest green spaces is situated in the northeast of France's capital.
"The first bag was found on Monday in an area used by park workers to dump waste," said another investigating source.

Police were called and by late afternoon on Monday, a full-scale search involving forensics officers had been launched.
By Tuesday morning, the woman’s dismembered head was found at the end of a disused railway line in the park.
An autopsy has been carried out, and thousands of hours of CCTV film shot around the park are being studied for clues.

The lifeless body of Lola Daviet was found last October squeezed into a suitcase in a street adjoining the park.
