Whoopi Goldberg bans Sunny Hostin from talking about her 'farts' on The View
Whoopi Goldberg has declared that she's done talking about her "fart incident" on The View.
The former Hollywood actor called out her fellow co-hosts, Sunny Hostin and Andy Cohen. She said: "Before we get started, I want to put something to bed with the two of you.
"A sound was made on the table, and that’s what it was. We don’t need to bring it up ever again, anywhere. OK? We’re good?" she sternly stated.
The Sister Act star allegedly let one rip during the daytime talk show, audibly passing gas before one of her co-hosts burst out laughing and pointing the finger at Whoopi as the culprit.
She quickly claimed her mistake, saying: "That was gas,” as the audience joined in, laughing.
The View's Whoopi Goldberg mocks viewers by fake crying and yelling 'boo hoo'Sunny shared more details about the awkward moment while chatting on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show.
“It just turned into this big thing, and so Whoopi said, ‘Why did you tell everybody I fart all the time?’ and I was like, ‘Because you joke about farting all the time, and I’m across from the table,'”
“I can’t smell it! Whoever smelt it dealt it, so I just had no idea.” she said, before adding: “Thanks a lot [Andy], but I mean, Whoopi and I are very close, so she was OK.”
Andy then apologised for causing a rift between Sunny and Whoopi.
In another episode, Sara Haines moved her cup, causing a fart sound. When Whoopi asked about the noise, Sara simply said: “It’s my glass every time I turn it.”
“We get blamed for dropping gas when in fact, it’s a cup,” Whoopi stated.
Following the allegations of fart noises, producers have brought in coasters to avoid the sounds. A source told Entertainment Weekly that the mugs and cups were the "source of the show's sonic terrorism" as they "scrap across the show's glass table."
The source added that the director wanted to see how the glassware looked while resting atop the white coasters.
