Cristiano Ronaldo does not appear to have totally soured his relationship with Saudi employer Al-Nassr despite his attempts to leave the club.

The Portuguese striker only signed for the Pro League outfit back in December following an explosive falling out with Manchester United. He put pen to paper on a £173m-per-year deal in Saudi Arabia.

Recent reports have suggested that Ronaldo is "desperate" to leave and was eyeing a move back to former club Real Madrid. That would be easier said than done however with current club president Florentino Perez only willing to offer an ambassadorial role.

Despite claims that Ronaldo already wants to bid farewell to Saudi Arabia, he has dropped a hint about his stance on the club. Taking to Instagram during his downtime, the 38-year-old shared a pic of him relaxing by a pool.

Invariably, he had his shirt off as he soaked up the sun but also donned an Al-Nassr cap - an intriguing piece of attire given that he seemingly wants to quit the club. Ronaldo currently has just over two years left on the record-breaking contract that he initially signed with the club.

Speaking at the time, he said: “I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country. The vision of what Al Nassr are doing and developing in Saudi Arabia both in terms of men’s and women’s football is very inspiring.

“We can see from Saudi Arabia’s recent performance at the World Cup that this is a country with big football ambitions and a lot of potential.

"I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football and feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia. I am looking forward to joining my new teammates and together with them, help the club to achieve success."

Amid talk over his future, Ronaldo has already been at the heart of a joke from non-league side Bromley. Responding to reports of Ronaldo’s wish to leave Al-Nassr, Vanarama, the sponsors of the Conference, tweeted a mocked-up image of him wearing a Bromley shirt.

A caption alongside the image read: “It's not too late if you want to play in white next season, @Cristiano,” alongside a pair of eyes emoji.

Bromley simply replied: “Nah, you're alright,” as they rejected the chance to take the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to Hayes Lane.

Ronaldo’s current employers face a nervous end to the season as they aim to secure the Saudi title. They sit second behind current leaders Al-Ittihad. They have six games of the campaign remaining and Ronaldo will hope to continue his hot form after 12 goals in his opening 15 matches since his arrival.
