The Chase pro quizzer Shaun Wallace made ITV history with his largest ever prize offer.

He left his co-star's stunned as he tempted a chaser with an eye-watering price tag on Sunday night (April 20), where celebrities took on the general knowledge challenge.

Host Bradley Walsh welcomed comedian Sarah Millican, dog trainer Graeme Hall, British space scientist Margaret Aderin-Pocock and TV presenter Ortis Deley to the ITV studio.

In an effort to win money for charity, Sarah bagged a comfortable £7,000 in the cash builder round.

When it was Shaun's turn to make his offers, he made sure Sarah was given plenty of options.

"This is the highest offer I've ever made on the Celebrity Chase," the quizzer admitted, as the studio was stunned.

Despite the eye-watering sum, the comedian decided to take the low offer with the aim of getting back to the team for the final chase.

In total, the team managed to bag £100,000 to play for in the final chase.

But Sarah faced backlash from viewers, who were annoyed she passed on several questions.

One viewer fumed: "#TheChase Fsk Sarah, stop passing and guess!!"

"Stop bloody passing Sarah!!," added a second as another added: "Millican the queen of pass #thechase."

Someone else chimed in: "Stop passing Sarah..the others know those answers!"
