Former TOWIE star Megan McKenna looked drastically different from her reality TV days as she wore a leather dress emblazoned with crosses and a cowboy hat at the BRITs Awards.

The country music singer, 30, rocked a mini dress with slits on the skirt, decorated with silver crosses and floral jewels, accessorising the look with black cowboy boots, a hat and long matching gloves.

Megan opted for long red locks which fell to her waist, when she walked the BRITs red carpet.

It was a far cry from her blonde and brunette days on the Essex reality show, which she left in 2017 to pursue her music career.

The star first shot to fame in 2009 when she appeared on Britain's Got Talent and reached the semi-finals as part of the music duo Harmony.

A year later she starred in TOWIE for the first time when she auditioned to be part of the girl group LOLA.

With singing being her ultimate passion she auditioned for The X Factor on two separate occasions and made it to bootcamp each time.

Her TV career then took off when she appeared on the third series of MTV's Ex on the Beach, before becoming a housemate in the 2016 series of Celebrity Big Brother.

A short while after her CBB stint, she joined The Only Way Is Essex as a full-time cast member, and one year after she opened her first restaurant – MCK Grill.

Separting TOWIE in 2017, she started her own reality series, There’s Something About Megan – which focused on the TV personality forging a career in country music.

The series saw her travel to Nashville and launch a music career with her single High Heeled Shoes.

More recently Megan was a finalist on Celebrity MasterChef, which led her to launching a book titled Can You Make That Gluten Free? which focuses on recipes for people with coeliac disease.

This year, the BRIT Awards takes place on a Saturday - the first time the star-studded music ceremony has ever been held over a weekend rather than its usual weeknight slot.

Buzz for this year’s show began last month, mainly thanks to the backlash surrounding the nominations for the Artist of the Year honour and the fact no women were put up for the award.

Fans were outraged to discover the category - won by Adele in 2022 - featured only male acts, with Harry, rapper Central Cee, DJ Fred again, pop singers George Ezra and and Stormzy.

Just 17.6% of artists originally shortlisted last year for Artist of the Year 2023 were women, and included Mabel, Florence and the Machine, Charli XCX, Becky Hill and Rina Sawayama - but none of the talented female stars made the final cut when the final nominations were announced on January 12.

Comedian Mo Gilligan is on hand to host the show once again from the O2 Arena in London, with a whole host of celebrities already there and packing the venue out.
