Paddy Pimblett could feel very awkward after UFC's deal with Logan Paul

Paddy Pimblett could be feeling red-faced after Logan Paul's Prime Energy was unveiled as the UFC's official sports drink partner.

'The Baddy' recently launched his own 'Body Fuel' energy drink alongside Applied Nutrition and explained how the product is better than Prime, of which Pimblett likened to Gatorade. In the video, Pimblett attempted to show how much two grams of sugar, which is the sugar content of Prime, looks like by pouring a large amount of it onto a table.

Paul took offence to this part of the video and even threatened to sue Pimblett for misinterpretation, but the UFC star doubled down by writing on Instagram: "Just wanted to clarify a few things for you Logan Paul. Body Fuel is the best hydration drink going, get yours at Applied Nutrition."

Pimblett's drink is not an official sponsor of the UFC but with Prime now receiving "unprecedented branding" in the very octagon that he will be fighting in, the Scouser could be feeling very awkward. The new branding will also see the UFC's red and blue corners, in which fighters recover at in between rounds, renamed to the Prime Hydration Recovery Zones. Prime will also be named as the exclusive sponsor for UFC pay-per-view events.

Paul said he and KSI, co-founder of Prime, are thrilled about the hydration drink sponsoring the UFC. "I’ve been a fan of UFC for as long as I can remember," Paul said. "So having the opportunity to partner with them and amplify the Prime brand is a check off the bucket list. Together, we are a global powerhouse and this collaboration is sure to extend far beyond the Octagon with an opportunity to give back in the process with the UFC Foundation."

Pimblett was called out by Paul for a fight last year as the American said he wanted to fight someone in the UFC who can sell tickets and believes 'The Baddy' would be a perfect opponent. Pimblett was also challenged to a spar by Paul's brother Jake, with the YouTube boxer offering Pimblett $1million if he could beat him in the ring.

The Scouser accused Paul of "fixing" his fights, most recently his points win over UFC legend Anderson Silva, with the YouTuber boxer Paul denying the accusation. A sparring match between the pair never materialised as Pimblett was preparing for his UFC 282 fight against Jared Gordon, which he won by controversial decision.
