Despite losing the game to the Oklahoma City Thunder, LeBron James deserved to celebrate on Tuesday night after he became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, setting the record with a fadeaway shot during the second half of the game.

James overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who held the record since 1984, when he overtook Wilt Chamberlain before him. But James was able to break the record in 160 less games than Jabbar, as 'The King' remains dominant now in his 20th season.

After breaking the record during Tuesday's night Los Angeles Lakers loss, James and his teammates at the The Fleur Room on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood to celebrate James' historic night.

As well as a few of James' Laker teammates, stars Kelly Rowland, Karrueche Tran, Jimmy Iovine and Corey Gamble were in attendance, as well as James' wife, Savannah.

Savannah James gave a speech, for James did so too, emotionally thanking his family and all those in attendance.

James said: "My wife, friends and family... they know I don't take the things I have accomplished and have done for me. Because I do it all for them.

"I get lost a lot, appreciating some of the wins I have because it is never about me. I wouldn't be able to do without my wife, my kids, my mum... No-one man can accomplish such journey alone.

"I appreciate ya'll and I love ya'll, now where my gifts at?!".

At the Lakers game, more stars were seen courtside, with Jay-Z, Floyd Mayweather, Usher and Dwyane Wade there to see James break the record.

After hitting the shot to take him above Abdul-Jabbar, the game was paused to congratulate the superstar, with Abdul-Jabbar himself in attendance with a passing of the torch ceremony, as commissioner Adam Silver gave a speech before passing James the microphone.

He then said: "I thank you guys so much for allowing me to be a part of something I've always dreamed about. I would never in a million years dreamt this to be even better than what it is tonight."
