This Morning welcomed new host Cat Deeley onto the show this week and some viewers have already criticised her approach to presenting since her recent debut.

The presenter, 47, and co-host Ben Shephard, 49, are the latest additions to the ITV show's line-up, with them having replaced Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. Cat and Ben made their debut together on Monday morning.

The pair have received praise over their debut but not everyone has been impressed with Cat's approach. Some viewers have expressed frustration, claiming that she has a habit of "interrupting" and "talking over" guests on the show.

It's included over Tuesday's episode, in which Cat and Ben spoke to MasterChef judge John Torode. He was on the show to share a recipe for a curry, but some viewers seemed distracted by co-host Cat.

Some viewers complained on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Cat was "talking all the time". One person wrote: "Too much talking and interruption is already making this curry recipe too complicated to follow. Cat, stop talking all the time! All the time. Just let somebody else speak."

Another agreed, saying: "I've turned it off as Cat's annoying me she won't let anyone else speak." Someone asked: "Is this the Cat Deeley show? She never stops making a noise." A fourth person wrote on the platform: "The show is called This Morning. NOT the Ben Shepherd Show or the Cat Deeley Show. STOP talking over each other and stop interrupting the guests. OMG – what a noise!"

Whilst one person said: "Cat Deeley needs to listen more instead of talking all the time. John Torode was trying to explain a recipe, but she kept interrupting. [I] much prefer Ben Shepherd. I may have to turn off This Morning now she is on there all the time. She is too over the top."

Cat's co-host Ben recently teased that she needed to "stop talking" and "listen" during a segment on Thursday's episode. It was whilst Claire Richards fronted a fashion segment on the ITV show. Cat was heard making a comment, whilst Claire discussed a product, with Ben then appearing to say: "Wait, wait! Did you hear that? Listen to Claire Richards. Stop talking."

Despite some criticism, there however has been praise over Ben and Cat having joined This Morning. Someone tweeted earlier this week: "Caught a little bit of [them] hosting #thismorning and what a breath of fresh air they are."

A second viewer said: "I'm liking. Ben and Cat more relaxed look. Jeans etc. Great. They seem good together. I wasn't sure but proved wrong." A third said: "I am definitely a fan of Ben and Cat, great vibe and guests seem more at ease."

One fan wrote: "Big fan of Cat & Ben!! They're coming across really down to earth and friendly." Sharing their thoughts, another viewer wrote in a tweet on Wednesday: "Wasn't sure Cat was a good fit after her guest stint last year but she's relaxed into #ThisMorning very quickly."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX from 10am. Previous episodes are available through the streaming platform.
