There's nothing like tucking into a packet of Walkers crisps when you're peckish - but one snack-lover was left confused when he noticed a glaring error on the bag he was eating.

One savoury-loving customer couldn't believe his eyes when he looked at the packet of Salt and Vinegar he was about to tuck into and noticed that there was something a little strange about it. It's safe to assume that - in the UK anyway - Salt and Vinegar crisps should be in a bright green packet, but, X, formerly Twitter, user Josh Adamson clocked that his packet was actually a different shade.

The packaging of the dried potato snack looked rather unusual because it was a faded blue shade, rather than the bright green you'd expect. Josh penned: "Quality department working hard I see", followed by a crying emoji, and one crying with laughter. The packet was seriously discoloured, but the company insisted that the snack was still good to eat, despite the unique shade.

The crisp brand quickly apologised to the customer and they admitted that the appearance of the faded packet was due to an "error" in the factory, reports the Daily Star. On X, a Walkers spokesperson said: "Hi Josh, this is a printing error that's happened at our film suppliers, but rest assured your crisps are safe to enjoy!"

Controversy ensued in the comments, however, with one person penning: "Personally I've always thought it strange that salt and vinegar were in green packets and not blue as I've always associated green with cheese and onion." Someone replied: "Green is the TRADITIONAL colour for cheese and onion, blue for salt and vinegar."

In other Walkers news, fans were left gutted when they realised a flavour had been given the chop for good. The flavour in question? Beetroot and Sweet Chilli Jam - and while the concept may seem a little random to devout ready-salted lovers, the crisps, which were part of the Oven Baked with Veg range, were clearly a big hit with many, as fans have been asking after them.
